Default New Turbo Build....Need Some Insight

Going to be putting together a new turbo build for the new year....basically going to be a front mount turbo setup, most likely going to go with the Virginia Speed Hotside kit....the motor setup is most likely going to be a stock LQ9 with the speed inc TU3 turbo cam, the Trick Flow/TEA 220CC turbo heads, with a super victor sitting on top of it all....I'm going to be running a 3.55 gear and backing the motor will be a TH400.....now here come the questions.....with this setup what is the ideal turbo going to be? I was considering a T-76 / Q-TRIM / 1.0 A/R. I could also use some input of convertor sizing. Also considering running an 80lb injector....curious to hear some opinions on those. Any other input on this will be terrific....so please feel free to chime in....

Alteast an 88mm. I ran my 8.9 on race gas with 80# injectors but they were at 92-94% duty cycle at 80 psi. Just depends how fast you want to go and the weight of the vehicle.

Said an done the car should be about 3000lbs with driver....as far as injector sizing....can the stock ECM run much bigger than that? Will this turbo be more beneficial?

I mean remember I plan on running a stock bottom end.....

You're going to want to go larger than a 76 if you can fit it. Especially with a stock lower end. The larger turbo will produce less heat and work less hard to get where you want to be. It will also result in much less back pressure which will be the key in making a lot of power without crazy high boost pressures. I'd look into an 80mm+ sized turbo, at least on the hot side.

The stock PCM can run what ever injector you want. If you use a low impedance injector, you'll just need to wire up a driver box inline. High imp injectors shouldn't be a problem. The 80's should be good for a while as you will be power limited by the stock bottom end.

I am not at all familiar with those turbos although I like the numbers on the 122.

Alright...I'll most likely be running the 80lb motrons and the 122 is looking good to me....
