dump timing on the initial part of the run, the turbo WILL spool real quick. Ever saw a turbo that was fully spooled at idle? well my turbo car spooled at 1200rpms with -3 degrees spark advance.
Low timing raises EGT, and will have you're exhaust GLOWING in 30seconds (if spark is low enough). Now the above reference was a something I stumbled across when I had a vaccum leak and the ECM was lowering spark as means of idle overspeed spark correction.
I dont know however if this could be used to make something like this spool quicker.
all I have to say is, this thiing is awesome, would make for a nice highway racer LOL.

I'm not trying to be a smart ***. My point is that it seems that as the air volume and velocity are increased the distance that the turbo is from the engine is less of a detriment. Also, maybe at a certain level there may be no disadvantage at all. I guess you could measure EGT's at the header and at the turbo on different combos (from small to outlaw) to see the true difference. I have to believe that guys like Major and Murillo did a fair amount of homework before deciding to go the route that they did considering the time and money involved. Phil, you are representing the front mount crowd pretty well.

New Corvette Record for the standing mile! 224 mph by Hinson Motorsports! On low boost!
We loaded up for the night. We decided not to make another pass today when the crosswinds got high. We'll be ready to hit it hard tomorrow morning. There will be another new record tomorrow! Stay tuned as we start turning up the boost!

I was about to say congrats on the results, but they are now over shadowed by the crash
Glad the driver is ok and hope that the drive line wasnt too badly damaged

You only need a 6pt roll bar to do 220+mph? Only a matter of time until someone gets killed if that stays the same. That driver is VERY lucky to be alive...
