4l80e is on the floor, rear pinion yoke so i can drop this coupler and go to a Ujoint, in the mail.
Rebuild of 4l80e will begin tomorrow night i believe and will be ordering my new circle D converter within the next week
I cannot wait for this!
Also, id like to add, i scored a stupid good deal on a work bench, i was going to build one this weekend. until my father in law passed this on the side of the road for 50 bucks! Sorry, had to show it, even has a vice and peg board! starting to finally feel like a garage now!

Weather it be boredom, hatred, or love of building, ive decided to take this to the next level, well and entirely different level.
The GTO is getting taken apart, put back to stock(ISH) and gonna occupy a space in the driveway from now on, with a CAR COVER, lol.
I loved building on it, whatever, but ive decided i want to build a car, actually build one. start with a rolling chassis and go from their, ive been really interested in an RX7 FC swap for sometime, and getting into an uber light setup making modest power levels.
So with that said, im looking to get the FC into the garage by the end of next month and get moving in the direction i want to go, i listed my current stall converter for sale int he classifieds and am moving on.

Probably a th350 0r 400 which ever i can get ahold of on the low buck for the time being.
My father in laws dad has a th350 sitting in his garage that he said he wont be using and would come off it very very cheap, if not free.
probably the route i go with 3.23 rear gears.
Also dropping of my 4l80 to my builder with the jakes shift kit and the hd rebuild kit and having him put it back together with a fresh rebuild, will then list that for sale.

Ok, So, ive last sunday, i got a weird and loud ticking noise develope on a spirited drive. Checked oil pressure, 39-40 idle and jumps to 60ish at the blimp of the throttle. So, i decided last night, i would pull the heads, inspect the lifters, replace, inspect push rods, verify length, etc.
Ok, did all this, my buddy was over who has had lifter trouble, what etc. We opted to change the lifters for a lower mile set out of another engine i have.
after verifying pushrod length we opted to change back to the 7.4 vs the 7.425s
So, got it all buttoned back up, less the turbo and fired her up, couldnt hear **** over the open t4 flange so i decided id just button it back up.
Also, during the tear down, i found the reason why it always took so long to spool, this turbo on this motor shouldve spooled really fast. Well, turns out, if your wastegate isnt seated properly, it'll just blow out all your drive pressure. Interesting, who wouldve thunk it, DUR!
Either way, that was due to the turbo blanket and my poor placement of the wastegate during fabrication, it was too close, the blanket put the gate in a bind and wouldnt allow it to seat.
Anyway, After all this, a whole day, i now feel was wasted, whatever, the ticking persists. No louder, no quieter, etc. Like i said, before, oil pressure is perfect, and doesnt appear to have any silver or copper flakes in the oil.
Here's a quick video making the ticking very audible. This is how loud it is, its noticeable. so, any thoughts? Im at wits end. I hate to pull the motor.
a friend of mine told me to check the torque converter bolts to make sure the converter is in their correctly still. Although, i have no idea how that would make a noise like this.
