+1, And if it is,

Is it necessary to o-ring both the heads and block, or am i completely off base here??

Also, whats the cost to add the O-rings??

Yes, first engine has wire O ring, We O ring the block, receiver grove the heads, including Copper gaskets total is $500.

both engines have typical C-series crankshafts/Compstar H beams.

Over 1000hp i'd consider O ring, anytime you believe theirs possibility of pushing water. Not something i'd run on a daily driver, weekend car its fine. Some people have issues with copper gaskets leaking water, we seal them with specific RTV work fine.

Default AES 390 Short Block

Fraser in the 1st pic those pistons look like they are coated, if so. how much more for the coating? And I already have a seasoned 6.0 block could I use it and what if any price difference. Thanks Mike

Either that or graphite gasket, some people use MLS gasket with O ring which I don't believe is malleable enough to take advantage of O ring.

Coating is $295, that includes ceramic top coating and dry-moly skirt coating

If you have your own block take off $400.

Just had a customer get back to me, 390ci he running Fbody rear mount 91/88 T4

With previous 408 it was at 967rwhp @ 20psi

With new 390 engine hes at 1060rwhp @ 18psi

Standard 6.0 iron 390 engine, Compstar 5140 crank, Compstar H beam, CP Piston, NPR steel top ring.

I know you guys have pistons cut for a 4.03 setup, but if I had an LS2 block would the price be similar? How do you guys like the callies billet rods versus something like the Howards billet?

Could the 390 setup be done with an aluminum LS2 block? If so, how much would that be extra?

Thanks!

Coming out with 4.005" version of the pistons expected January.

I already have a few customers running 4.030" bore LS2 blocks, no issues.

385 series LS2 shortblock, $3995 + shipping
CP-Carrillo pistons -15cc, NPR gas nitrided steel top ring, .180" wall chrom-moly pins, Compstar 5140 forged crank,
Compstar forged H beam, ARP main studs, LS2 block

Early next year planning similar design piston 25cc dish, 4.130" bore size, FI piston that will work with, low deck and tall deck blocks

3.800" crank/ 6.125" Rod LSX std deck
4.100" crank/ 6.450" Rod LSX tall deck
4.250" crank/ 6.450" Rod RHS tall deck

We've installed a few sets in BBC so far, i'd say its the go-to rod for 1500hp. Both Callies and Howards come from same foundry, good pieces.

I have read on the Callies C-Series 5140 3.825" crank and it says 575hp max. Is this true?
