Question l92 heads and boost???

say if i was to go with a stock l92 heads on my 408ci (-22cc pistons and ls9 gaskets) what kinda boost could i run before they start trying to lift?
i have 317's not and i was told you can't run the boost on the l92 that you can with a 317's because of the l92 deck being thinner than the already thin 317's??

i would like to make as much power as possible but not pushing water every time...lol
i would like to make 15-18psi
this is in a 4000;b truck with a 408ci motor and a gt-91mm turbo and i will be shifting the truck around 6500 at most

O my bad..
yes i have ARP studs and Ls9 head gaskets...

i can not O-rind it because no one around here does it other than one motor builder and he is OUTRAGEOUS on the price... i could get a aftermarket casting head for a few dollars more and i don't mean few hundred more ether

The thicker deck on the aftermarket head will help a bunch but its going to cost you. I see 19lbs with mine and no issues.

Veee8 on here had done l92's and it would lift ~15psi. I would keep the 317's on there until you can get a good head with a thick deck. If you are wanting to go rect. port get something aftermarket like the Mast heads or the PRC offering.

Before you dump the 317's, take a look at this thread.

Also, if you are in Miss. Try Gulf Coast Racing Engines in Pensacola FL they do some badass work. The owner graduated from SAM and he has an all motor 408 camaro that he brings to Gulfport Dragway once in a while that runs 9 flat

Cylinder pressure lifts heads not boost. You can probably get to 1100 at the flywheel with that combo and keeping down the RPM's. There are a ton of variables though.

OEM head. I plan on going to an aftermarket head next time around but 2500 bucks didnt go with the budget. You can also look into 1/2 studs, will help a little.
