Default Update on group buy of larger exhaust housing for tc78

Ok for those who have been following my thread on tc78 vs pt88. I have my self and 2others who want to get larger exhaust housing on our tc78s. I spoke to comp turbo. Normally a exhaust housing is $375. With 3 being made it would go down to $290. If we can get more it will go even lower.

Also we would save alot in shipping. I would be the only one sending a turbo to them. He can make all of them based on my tc78.

Options are,
1.15,1.32,1.52 ar
3,3.5,or 4inch dp size.

I'm going 1.52 ar with a 3.5 dp. According to them due to the fact that mine is maxed out at 675whp and peaks at 5600ish I should easily make another 50whp.

Pm me if you want in. my car is down for the winter so I can mail out anytime. I'm going to leave this open for a couple weeks to get as many people as possible.

Alex

If you could, PM me a week before this closes. I'm still on the fence about it, and might forget. Hopefully I'll have my mind made up by then. Thanks for your work on this either way, it's been informative.

I am in for sure!

I would send you a little bit of cash too since you are nice enough to send your turbo in so we don't have too

I want a 1.52 with a 3" discharge

No problem don't know where I would be without ls1tech. Keep the pms coming, even if your on the fence. Il pm everyone after about a 2 weeks so we can have as many people as possible.

As.soon as the list is officially made I will give comp turbo your names and individual order. Then all you have to do is give them a call with payment and shipping.

Im really excited if we get a bunch of guys to really see the real world results from the very compact and already powerful turbo

correct me if im wrong, but the housing that will be made will fit both the TC78 AND TC76?

if so it might be worth it to make a little money, order a few housings of different sizes and hang on to em for a bit, then sell em NIB I may just do this

Im almost positive if the housing is made for the f168 they are interchangable and I wish i had a dollar for everytime somebody posted looking for a TC housing bigger than 0.96 If a few guys have enough disposable income to purchase a few extras, not only will the price continue to drop but more info and hardware will be out there

To the top. Another option to think about would be going with the largest ar 1.52 with a divided housing. This way you could add a quick spool valve and have the best of both worlds. Just a thought

I can have spool valves made out of any material, not sure of the price but my company deals with over a dozen machine shops in and around Houston, they are all in subsea oil and gas and ISO 9001 cert'd so you can be sure quality is high.

they will cost money but if anybody is interested post it up, im sure prices will get better with numbers as well.

I'm curious to see the results from these. I already made 686rwhp(thru the auto) with a stock 5.3 with a cam on a .96 housing and will be switching to a 1.15 housing before spring. I'd like to add an ls6 intake also(using a stock ls1 intake now) to see what kind of power I can make. Also this time I won't be going thru the 9" and 33x22.50 tires so should dyno higher, lol.

I'll be curious to see what people gain going to the bigger housing, hopefulling some back to back dynos can be done.

Any of you guys running the race cover?

18lbs, I'll hit the dyno here in a few months to see what it'll make with the new housing, but this time in my daily driver I'm building(1985 Ford LTD). Same motor/tranny/turbo though, just the bigger exhaust housing, I hope on 18lbs it makes 715-725rwhp.

Do you have any idea on how your gonna do your setup yet?? i cant tell you this, unless you do it like streams, youre not gonna fit a 3.5" the way i have mine, a 3" is max size, im touching frame and manifold. just so you know.
