Default Cats or No Cats with Procharger and True Duals

I am about to get the Kooks 1 7/8"-3" offroad headers and the new Kooks True Dual sytem but I am unsure whether I should get the catted or non-catted version. The car is a daily driver and future plans are either a D1SC or F1A procharger with a 402 stroker, 600-800hp depending on blower and pulley. I live in Durham NC were cats are supposedly required but I got pulled twice in my old procharged cat-less LT1 WS6 and never got hassled about the noise or having no cats. I work in the auto industry so inspection shouldn't be a problem. I like the idea of cats to smooth out the sound and quiet it down a little and also keep the fumes to a minimum(again daily driver and I live in population) but I have heard that cats get fried or blow apart prematurely with high boost forced induction applications. Any input or suggestions?

I tried a few different cats and I could never find any that didn't blow out after 500 miles.

I used the Pypes Mini Metallic Substrate cats and never had any issues. Make sure you go with a metallic substrate and not a ceramic substrate as the heat will destroy it. Also try to get a cat with a 200-300 cell.

How about a resonator or silencer for sound instead?

I wouldnt use cats on a procharger build, thats just me tho. They like to breath!! Like DanWS6 said, I dont think they would last with that blower!

Im running an Off Road Y setup with just a single Moroso Spiral flow resonator. It sounds really good and smooth, and hardly has any rasp to it. Then I have an electric cutout for use on the track. I picked up 70rwhp by just opening my cutout. I only have 1 3/4 headers though. If you can swing it, I would look at the 1 7/8 stepped to 2". I really wish somebody would dyno with the 1 3/4 headers and then put some bigger ones on to see how much it really gains.

kooks and ARH etc they get their cats from someone else, you cant just make them like other exhust parts, they use very high flowing cats 400 cell sounds right and you lose very little power, i think those cats are made for high pressure and horse power so they shouldnt blow out

I have never heard anything posotive about cats and forced induction. I would suggest adding two magnaflow round mufflers or some other type round mufflers in the sytem some where like the original pictures located in the true dual sticky. I plan to upgrade to this same exhaust by the summer. But before I add an additional muffler I would get the kit try it and go from there.
