Default Upgrading...Again....Goodbye P1SC, Hello ...

Well less than 500 miles on my P1SC setup I'm at it again.

Out with the old

In with the new
(((HELP...PICTURE NEEDED)))

The heart of the beast, stroked 408 9.37:1 compression ratio Forged Everything

I was only getting 5psi out of that little supercharger.
The Question?
Big Single turbo, Twin 67s or F1A
The Verdict? Not sure yet, Leaning towards Procharger again...Ohhh The Whine

The Problem?
Sold my P1SC as a kit, lost everything, starting over again.

The Need?
Ohh Everything...J bracket (8 rib this time), Pinned crank pulley, F1A(If I go that route)ATI Race Bypass Valve, Bigger Injectors

Car has been speed density tuned by me using HP Tuners

I will keep posted, but in the meantime let me know what you guys think. You helped me build the last one, lets do it again!

Well I talked to Josh at Kentucky Turbo today and the Twins setp is out of the question, Hotside, Coldside, and Turbocharger will run me around $10,000.
Single turbo is out of the question as that one will run me around $6500
I would also need to buy the Turbo K-Member to use either of those kits.

So now its back to the Procharger, Anyone upgrading or demodding and have some parts leftover lol?

I have a D1 head unit from an LT1 kit I am selling. Not sure if that will work with the LS1 though, will it?

for the Street D1-sc and a LSX ASTS auto spring tentioner stystem, at 12 pounds you will be making 750 RWHP and 700 pounds of TQ on that motor, forget the turbos, hot/cold pipes IMOP a mess

Well I was talking to Bob over at Brutespeed and he was suggesting the F1A to go along with my 408. He said the P1SC was too small, the D1SC would work but I really needed the F1A for the best combination for that engine. I dont want to go through this again. I was definatly not happy with the P1SC only hitting 5psi of boost. It sure did put a smile on my face when I felt the power of boost though, just didnt last very long lol.

I really love how the F1A sounds and with that particular supercharger, there will be room to grow. With the D1SC, there isn't much room to grow. If I find a D1SC for the right price I will step to it, but right now people are wanting $1800+ for a head unit only. I will wait for someone to upgrade and offer me a supercharger at a moderate price. Hell I am upgrading and sold my entire front mount P1SC kit for $2700, that included everything but injectors and a tune. I'm sure someone else will pass on a decent deal when they are upgrading or demodding to the LS community, I just hope I am there to jump on it when the time comes lol.

F1A's are hard to find around here (ask me how I know)

There are usually some decent deals floating around for a complete D1SC, are you picky about if its Twins or Front Mount?

Hey my name is also Stephen lol

I would probably end up having all my piping fabbed up.(I'm picky) And I will go with another front mount 31x12x3. Been thinking of incorporating an A2W intercooler that is plummed in after the A2A so if I wanted to run out at the track I could just throw some ice and antifreeze into the tank. Still have to look at that a bit though. It will be a front mount. As far as the rest of the kit is concerned, I would most definatly want an 8 rib setup. I will probably do Chads mod to it. I want to go with the big red Procharger Race valve this time. I used the Vortech Mondo last time and I didnt like how the plunger setup was done on it. Made it much too easy for the seal to be blown out when you were vented to the atmosphere. I havnt even looked for a D1SC yet but if I havnt had any hits on the F1A I will for sure start looking.

The ebay kit is too small for 408ci
It would be fine for a stock cubed motor though
Also, I refuse to lose my A/C

I would look at a 4" though intercooler instead of just a 3". For the size motor you have I think you're right in that an F1A is the better blower.

Josh has a kit that uses a C6 manifold on the passenger side to keep the AC without having to buy tubular manifolds. I Don't remember it costing 6500, but it's been a while since I've looked.

Good luck on your choice bro!

With the output of the supercharger being 3" I dont see what the point would be to use 4". The bottleneck would be the output of the supercharger, no?

I prefer the F1-D for the midrange power.

The new site is in the works. I dont do the C6/6.0L manfold setups any longer. After the kit and the K-member you are in the territory of the Header setups. With his size motor he is in the territory of the T6 Setups.

The F1-A is a great blower , i was going to do one on my LS2/Buick conversion but chose the East Coast Novi 2000 system because the novi is very quite and will support up to 1,000 HP on a LS motor, never mind the system is a real spring tentioner with 8 ribs and 8" over drive crank damper/pulley.

I was looking up info on the Novi systems. It seems those are primarily used on vettes. Did they make brackets that adapted them to F-Bodys? Also digging around the forums I found some interesting CFM flow numbers.

Air Flow

Procharger:
P1 - 1200 CFM
D1 - 1400 CFM
F1A - 1650 CFM

Vortech:
S-Trim - 1000 CFM
Si-Trim - 1150CFM
SQ-Trim - 1000 CFM
T-Trim - 1200 CFM
Ysi - 1600 CFM

Paxton:
Novi 1200 - 1000 CFM
Novi 1500 - 1200 CFM
Novi 2000 - 1400 CFM
Novi 2200 - 1450 CFM

1000 CFM = 680 supportable HP
1200 CFM = 825 supportable HP
1400 CFM = 925 supportable HP
1600 CFM = 1200 supportable HP

If thats the case, a D1SC will flow the same as a Novi 2000. Anyone got a cheap D1SC for sale?
