Oh yeah? How'd it work out for ya? There's only so many ways to route the plumbing with a C6/BMR turbo K/stock radiator location build I suppose!

i didnt have it on the car long. but it was fine. the only problem i ran into was clearance for the DP. if i was on the brakes hard the front sway bar hit a lil. nothing terrible but enough, ya know.
other than that it worked great.

Hmm...interesting. I have a spare steering rack installed on my K member for fab work and a swaybar in the "approximate" installed location and it looks like I have tons of room. I am running a 3" downpipe though, was yours bigger?

looks really nice, good job!
I have been researching the different routes you can go on a turbo kits. I want to keep a/c and also not chop up the radiator support for clearance. This route looks most promising! So is the flow of the C6 manifold very close to the flow of the driver side truck manifold?

In regards to volume of air? I assume so, and any slight difference would probably be irrelevant anyway.

The guy building my transmission said it's almost done, and my Circle D converter should ship out soon, so it's almost there!

Any idea what parts you need? Are you repinning the stock PCM?

Everything you'd need for an T56 --> 4L60 swap (flexplate, pedals, shifter, etc), a conversion crossmember (BMR w/ tq arm relocation), Lokar flexible trans dipstick, trans cooler, a harness adapter (Speartech), and probably a couple other things I'm forgetting off the top of my head. I am swapping engine harnesses from an M6 to an A4, mainly just because I got a good deal on the adapter harness...though they do make them for a M6 harness as well.

Ya it all seems pretty straight forward except the wiring part for me. I saw Painless makes an M6 to 4l80e that requires repinning of the PCM. Finding a whole a4 harness in Alaska is pain in the ***...

Where are you seeing you have to repin the harness?

I should have been more specific, you dont have to swap the m6 harness to an a4 if you do the harness from Speartech. But you have to do the repinning.

You can check it out under "Adapter Harnesses" on their site.

Still not sure what you're referring to. Maybe I missed something.

Ah...I gotcha now. Its just the pinning of the stuff for shift lockout, reverse lights, etc.

Thanks! And yes, never made anything out of metal before, this was my first welding project. Most people make a tool box or a welding cart...I made a turbo kit.

I have enough pipe to do another....I over ordered to be on the safe side. It was a fun project so I will probably weld up another and see how it comes out now that I've done it once before.

Finished the downpipe tonight...well, as much as I want to do until I have it back in the car and am ready to connect to my exhaust system.

I only had about an inch to spare from the top of the compressor housing to my water pump pulley. I probably could have lowered the turbo about an inch without making the lowest portion of the plumbing hang down any further in retrospect, but this should do the trick fine.

Now I just need to cut the hole in my merge for the wastegate, do the final welds, wrap it in DEI titanium heat wrap, and it's done!

nope it was 3 in. it was due to the car being on a two post lift when it was built. when the car was on the ground the clearances got tighter.
more my fault than anything.
