Default Help me pick the best converter

I'd like to get advice from members as to what's the best converter for street/strip 1000HP turbo F-body. It's 383ci with mild cam and TC78 turbo, 4L80E with transbrake is being built (Jake). I think I need lockup in all gears under WOT too.
What would be the best converter?

Yank PY3400. Works very well for a variety of turbo cars. I use one at 600rw (PY3600). Yank just recommend one to me for a 1000rw build too.

dont see 1000 with that turbo but 700 is possible

i hear yank says NOT to lock @WOT

but Chris @ Circle D dares you to lock it LOL

im goin to go with circle d

throw a better turbo on there and get your 1000...

i think we are doin the same thing building the car for 1000 and that way there are no worries.. just a turbo swap awy from it though

TC78 is rated at 1000HP
And I'm talking motor HP, obviously. And of course turbo can always be upgraded Just don't really know how much LS1 block will hold

As of know, Circle D is my favourite, because of votes here and the "dare to lock it" LOL. I just hope he'll have time to answer all my numerous questions and actually build the beast

This got me thinking... My car wasn't really setup after I turbocharged, I sold my T56. Only got few runs in it and very roughly tuned it to 400WHP. Is it possible at all to size converter in this situation, when I haven't really finished the setup yet? I suppose it is more or less common problem when you build your car and change engine setup together with transmission?

I thought Circle-D is the best, although being more expensive?

True. But I remember reading couple of threads where power-making guys switched to Circle-D from big-name converters and were happy
