Anyone have any idea on why this is? Im running twin 38mm wastegates with poly hard plastic lines with pushlock fittings. I have a Y coming off the compressor housing and about 1ft of line going to each gate. In 3rd gear when I get on it I see an 8psi jump then it quickly settles to 6psi by redline. WTH is causing this? I notice that the gates don't start to really open till 7lbs or so. Could that face that im running twin gates off one pressure source be causing the slow response?
My other option is trying the smallest springs they use (small yellow)which are supposed to be 3.6psi springs on a 38mm gate. Could switching to the softer spring maybe help with reaction time of the gates opening to help control boost better? The gates are obviously big enough since it only spikes and doesn't creep(well it creeps backwards)....

not sure a smaller spring will help. what boost controller are you using? where is your boost gauge getting pressure from? it may be more then 8psi at the compressor..
I had a problem with my jgs 50mm, it would spike to 10-12 psi like right now!!
ended up going with a dual spring. the spike stopped and I could go as low 4-5 psi up to 15 with my aem tru boost..

pics of the gate placement? I run two of the 38 mvs tials and my boost never even slightly spikes more than set boost
i run off the compressor housing with a Y too, only with -3 SS lines

I don't see the placement being a problem..as soon as they open the boost drops right away...I just dont understand why they open late...they just seem to be delayed. Hydro, do you have any other threads on this subject? I have an open spot on my manifold that i can tap an 1/8 push lock fitting.

Sucks to be me then. Theres no possible way to fit them anywhere else other than where they are. Heres my question though...why would where they are placed have anything to do with them opening late? I could see if they were opening on time and the boost was still doing it..but they open late and the boost response is immediate with the sound of them opening.

I also notice that one of my gates seems to be leaking but I cannot tell where it is coming from. The bottom port leaks and at first the top port leaked...so I took it apart and found my diaphram to be torn. So I replaced it and now the top does NOT leak but the bottom does..and its a very very small leak. When I blow on the hose and hold it, the air slowly leaks out..but I cannot tell from where..its such a small leak...my other wastegate does not have this issue at all.

Not sure if you can see from the pics..but this isnt on an Fbody. I can assure you there are no other places to fit these things. The left one sits no more than 4" off the ground where it is now..and the back one cannot be moved without being ripped off by the sway bar. This is in a 350z...where there is absolutely no room. I cant even take them off without removing the whole front of the car...
And back to the other question..why would thier placement cause the valves to open late? They don't even crack until around 7-7.5 and as soon as they open the boost drops right down to around 6-6.5.

- In theory, the wastegate should see just as much dedicaiton as the turbo itself. This ensures it opens properly.
