Default Insane Idea.... your thoughts?

while perusing for parts for my build, i had a wild idea about using an weiand 6-71 on a LQ4. Other than having to have a lower intake machined, which shouldnt be too expensive since the LS series heads dont need a coolant crossover like the old small block chevy's, can anyone tell me why this might or might not work?

Most likely a clearance issue. What kind of car is it going in?

It would look cool but how about the loss driving that size huffer? I have read that the 14/71 superchargers on fuel motors take 1000 hp to drive at the speed and output they are running.

No doubt it would get all the "cool" points available. The visuals would be spectacular. It would end there for me. A TVS would be easier, cheaper, and more powerful. No intercooler option on the jimmy. Plus, you'd have to fab up a carb or two.....then there's that need for spark. I don't miss carbs at all.

That does not look like an ls2, but I could be wrong. Either way its Ballin.

You're correct. Its not an LS2, looks like an LSX. Does have a 6 bolt block, but they are not utilizing the extra clamping force on the heads.

You couldnt pay me to have one of those grenades strapped to the top of my engine. After seeing a few of them blow and send parts over the grandstands and through the pits almost hitting the car ahead of me with a chunk of intake manifold....im not to keen on the idea of running the fuel through the compressor.

Does anyone have pics of what the inside of that aluminum spacer looks like under the blower? Just curious how the air enters the heads.

Think it would fit under stock hood?..
