Maggie Questions

Quick facts:
My first question is about the ports. I am awestruck that the ports on the bottom of the supercharger adapter are shaped so strangely. Are all maggie kits like this? What is the deal with the difference in shape and size of the ports between the supercharger and cylinder head?

My next question is does anyone have an EFI-LIVE base tune that might work for this car? Don't mention Holden Crazy because I already looked there. I am kind of confused because some info about the LS3 MAP says it is good for 1,5 bar but that doesn't make sense if you can only run a 1 or 2 bar OS.
Other than that can anyone comment on how long this product might last before having to go and have it rebuilt? I have heard that the rebuilt cost can be up to 1K if they have to replace the rotors+bearings due to wear.
Finally, if you do not plan on turning up the boost by replacing the factory pulley is it needed to pin the crank? I have heard it was only needed if you plan on going above and beyond the factory setup. The install looks pretty much straight forward other than that.
Thanks for any help or advice in advance.
- 2009 G8 GXP M6 LS3
- Car already had Kooks 1 3/4 headers with Catted X
- Purchased 01-23-60-155-CH with the intent of installing and tuning self. Have EFI-LIVE and will do wideband tuning on the street before taking it to a local dyno.

That does seem odd for them to be shaped that way. I just installed a MP112 on a LS1 and the ports were shaped just like the cathedral ports on the head. Might want to double check with Magnacharger on that.
Pin the crank....they give you the tools to do it, so do it! It's retarded not to.

Seems I read where the ports were shaped like that for emissions reasons. Also read where there's power to be had by porting the manifold to match the heads. You might get along for a while without pinning the crank, but i wouldn't chance it. You will run a long time before even thinking about a rebuild of the blower. Everything around the blower will give it up long before the blower craters.

I might have to look him up for the next round of mods.
Right now the motor is all together and runs strong. I decided that it was too much effort to port the SC myself. It may of helped but since I still have stock tires I probably don't need to worry about it until down the road.

they have a fill plug, but no way to check the fluid level,, the tvs2300 is factory filled with 205ml of gm supercharger oil,, you can pull the fill plug and suck out about 150ml and put the same amount back in,, but no actual way to check if its full or low

I would think it to be maintainable. With a service mirror and a suction pump! There is enough room between the firewall and the SC to it but its going to be one hell of a circus act to change the oil w/o removing the SC.
Perhaps you can get one of those inspection cams from harbor freight. Maggie instructions did say you never had the change the oil. What do you guys think? Run it for 50k miles?
I guess you are going to try to find a LS2 valley used on the fourms?
