I am running a comparable setup to yours and I had mine pinned with steel dowel pins. If I remember correctly when I was getting the motor put together this cost me about $250 bucks with the pins (machining, and pressing them in). It's not much but at those power levels it's almost worth the extra insurance. Just my .02

yes, ls2, but mains originally moved...thats all I'm saying. we tore it down after cracking the upper liner (60 runs at the 1700+ fwhp level) and the bottom end was nearly perfect with the exception of some very minor crankshaft flex. Of course this was after pinning them. this was even with very lightweight rotating assy.

being heavy has nothing to do with strength why do you think most high hp builds use lightweight rotating assemblies? I hope the smiley means you are kidding....
there is also a reason david childress switched to an ERL 6 bolt superdeck block while running in true street. don't worry you will see what the elders speak of soon young padowan...

Added: So he was having bottom end stability issues, and the heads lifting everytime he pushed it was the icing on the cake, along with having the potential to run hot after circulating exhaust gases into the radiator and the car running hot. I dunno how much actual street driving this car will see with a glide, but I think the superdeck treatment and/or 6 bolt heads are a must at the power level you, fireball, prostock john, MM, and countless other's approach daily and weekly at the track. I don't plan on right now ever throwing enough power at my car to have this problem, but if I did I would put my money in an ERL superdeck block for sure.

I love the ERL block and wouldnt think twice about getting one if money wasnt an issue. We are hopping to put this together and run some awesome times with want we have an hope some more sponsors will pick is up for next year.
A lot of people hate and say things cant be done, how many people would have said that stock rods would handle 900+hp without any issue? Not many but we took our old engine to that level and amazied a lot of people.
Cross your fingers and wish us luck, we doing the best we can with what we have!
