Default Who's boosted a stock 4.8L?

I've done some research but not coming up with a ton. I've seen a small handful of threads but not much info.

Anyways, we've recently picked up a 2000 4.8L out of a truck. Deal was too good to pass up so we figured we'd just buy it and leave it in the garage for a rainy day.

Anyways, just curious on boosted results. How much power you're getting out of them on stock internals, etc. I may just end up throwing it in a Fox Mustang for a quick beater car when me and my buddy's cars are apart or whatnot.

Thanks,
Adam

This is all very good to know

We picked up the complete motor with accessories, computer, harness, etc for $200. It'll find it's way into something

oh and the 317s on the 4.8 seem fine in a fairly light car, but put it in a big car or truck and they will make it painful to drive

Sounds like combo im puttin together. But using 317 stock ports and heads milled .005 just for flat surface. Also plan on 20+psig on pump. should b no prob with that low of scr.
Im using 72lb. Injectors to start. Prolly need bigger though. Shooting for 700rw thru built th400 and 12bolt

my heads are milled .003 just for a clean up and the only reason i had the heads ported is my proflo intake was already ported from my n/a build
im looking to upgrade my whole fuel system soon and get some meth for boost levels over 10#
im looking to keep this 4.8 in the car for a while, im tired of working on this damn car and just want to drive it lol and in the meantime time i have a ls6 block that ill put together with a 4.8 crank with forged rods and pistons and once that is done i will really turn the wick up on this stocker 4.8 lol

You really dont need the headswap unless you want to push above 15 psi, as stated it will be a bit of a dog. The stock heads will be fine

im running a boosted 4.8 and that is all I will run. compared to many 5.3s that rev to 6500, im giving up 10% cubic inches but gaining 18%rpm by shifting at 7700 because of that short stroke. I'll take that trade any day

nothing special at all. twin 60mm turbos, e85 fuel, non intercooled, aggressive timing, and 7700 rev limit.

you can do all these things when its a $150 motor lol
