Default 91mm 2 step timing on e85

how much timing can you throw at an e85 setup with a 91mm, car is 10:1 compression, 396cu, with 20* it make 6psi, id like to leave on 10-11, will 30* make help alot or even 40*? ive seen guys in the 35* range and wonder if 40 or higher would help. the protree is hard to get the boost up on.

Actually I believe you are on the wrong side of the scale.

I use timing retard on my 2 step.

Try -1 or -2 or Zero timing and add extra fuel not much since E85 lowers EGT's so much you won't need it pig rich to keep from over heating the turbine wheel.

FYI on my drag car I use -1 and 10.6:1 (gas wideband E85 reading)
Makes 30psi bouncing off the 2 step with the clutch pushed in!!!!

Not in all cases with a manual you want to retard timing. With an auto you add timing to build torque to get up on the converter.

I stand corrected, I did not realize this was an auto car.

Ya agreed auto car needs to be treated like its going down the track as far as AFR and timing are concerned on the converter
