Default Loudmouth Turbo v1.0.......

Figured i'd get a build thread started now that i'm starting to get some work done on the car again. It's going to take some time, but i'll update as I move along.

'99 Z28

Engine

5.3 shortblock w/ arp rod bolts and head studs
ls1 stg 2 heads
undecided on which cam yet (open to opinions)
Super victor intake with wilson 90 and accufab 90mm tb

Turbo

Will be making a truck manifold kit with a gt88 turbo

Transmission

1.80 first JW case/bell Glide with TSI internals

Rearend and rear suspension

MWC fab 9 and MWC rear suspension
Rear is narrowed 4" each side, strange pro race 40 spline gun drilled axles, strange ultra case, strange lightweight spool, richmond 3.50 pro gear, pretty much a badass rear!! (I originally purchased it with 2000+ hp in mind for my build, but my budget has changed drastically since then)

Engine Control

AEM EMS for the f-body (for the price of it, seems like the best bang for the buck. It has a lot of options and I figured i'd give it a shot, worst case scenario if it sucks i'll go back to my stock computer with EFILive and COS5)

Fueling

Still thinking about the fuel system. I'm thinking about trying the new holley dominator pump, but up between that and the magnafuel 4303, but i'm leaning toward trying out the holley. I already have 160lb injectors and will be running it on e85.

That's the basic jist of it. As I start getting everything done i'll update with pictures and i'll definitely get video when I get her running. Just hoping to push some decent power on the 5.3 and keep it together when it's done until I can build a motor for it and really push that GT88. If I can get in the 9's on the 5.3 i'll be happy for a little while.

Here's some pics of how she sits now after installing the MWC rear and suspension this past weekend:

My buddy wiping down the engine bay a bit.....

I love the deep dish rims!!!

I'll tell you what, it's really nice to have the car back on the ground again and have a nice clean garage!!! She was sitting on jackstands in the middle of the garage for the last 1.5 years and my garage was a damn mess, basically had just a lane to walk through.

Uh-oh...I guess a build thread makes it 'real'!

Good luck!

That it does, haha, thanks Mike! First time it's felt real in over a year now that I actually got some stuff done and started to accumulate some parts!

Thanks man, if you look closely at the pics, you can also see where I scraped the t-top holder bucket as well when all 4 came off the ground one time. I love the battle scars!!! I am hoping to get that issue resolved this time around though!

Wanted to throw a little update in here!!!

We tore the motor apart this weekend, cleaned everything up, opened up the gap on the top ring and reassembled everything. It's got arp rod bolts in it now and I just have to order some springs for the heads and head studs and the motor will be ready to drop in! Then it's just a fuel system and kit away from running!!

I'll take some pics when we're dropping the motor in.
