Default Help me read my TR6 spark plugs

Hey guys, the car started running like crap the last week. It originally had some hesitation during warm starts and then the last time it was having low end power issues and sounded like an exhaust leak (more like a dump truck then normal) I am running an open down pipe so it usually sounds like one but had more of a put put noise. I checked everything over, made sure things were tight and limped the car home. Upon getting there I had a misfire code in cylinder 7 pop up. Today I finally got to pull my plugs, here is what I found. I had just set my hptuners to scan misfire and there was no current misfire happening. It did have history missing in cylinder 7.

Cliffs
Car ran fine all summer until the last 4 times taking it out.
Info: 600 miles on plugs, 7# of boost, all gaps still the same (0.028")
Symptoms: Hard warm start, low end hesitation, misfire when warm
Codes: Cylinder 7 misfire, Engine misfire
Solutions: ???

Should I just clean the plugs and see if the misfire comes back in the one cylinder?

#7 is either fat or burning some oil. #7 is a common failure cylinder. Top ring problems. Two things to do. Replace that plug. You can swap injectors and coil packs/spark plug wires also.

replace ur wires first. it could be causing a plug not to fire and it will never show up as anything else as far as an SES light or something. Ive had this same problem.

Unfortuntley are cars run very well on 7 cylinders

Thanks for the responses guys, I cleaned the plugs up and have them back in the car. I am going to take it for a ride and datalog looking at each cylinder and monitor misfire. I swapped plugs around so if the problem moves I know its a plug. I have been hearing from people that spark plug maintenance is quite common on boosted ls1's. Any reccomendations with cyl 7? I am tuning via hptuners.

Are you seriously cleaning plugs that look like that?

Dude plugs are cheap

I am with badge....

Is this engine forged?

What is the blow by like?

Do a compression and leakdown test

Plugs are gapped at 0.028" I don't have access to a scope currently so I have not been able to look into the cylinder.

I just cleaned and moved the plugs to see if the misfire moved. They are going to be replaced. Engine is not forged but is only seeing 6-7psi. The car is not raced so I would imagine the low boost will be fine. I am just trying to eliminate possible easy fixes before really tearing things apart. After cleaning them and running for a few minutes the problem appeared to clean up. The plan is new msd wires and plugs then re-scan.

Ive had misfire problems on my single turbo 370 (E85) twice in 3000 miles caused by the TR6 plugs gapped at .028. Not sure why. Swtiched to an Autolite 103.

I personally prefer using Taylor plug wires as their boots clip onto the spark plugs much better. Bob

Do you sell them Bob and do you have a link? I can never tell if I have #6 or #8 seated so I'm left to start the car and scan those cylinders to see if they are firing.
