need help selecting engine kit for turbo 6.0
need help selecting engine kit for turbo 6.0 I bought a core 6.0 out of a 03 truck, it needs bored atleast 10 thousands over, my questions are, if i am going to get a new crank either way, should i get a forged stock size crank or go with a 408 stroker kit? was looking at the callies kit from speed inc. not sure if there is any reliability issues going stroker or not, realistic goal is around 800 at the wheels
id stick to the stock crank. have it honed the .010 over, buy a set of 6.125 rods callies makes some good one, and coresponding pistons that matach the stroke bore abd rod size. wiesco is an excellent piston.
I went with the 4.00 in stroke, I bought a kit from tsp, came with eagle crank, eagle h beams and wiseco pistons. The kit came balanced already and was just under 2300 bucks. Remember if you put rods and pistons in you'll have to have the rotating assembly balanced.
anyone know if a 5.3 crank is the same? might be able to get one for cheap, and if it will hold up

id pick the turbo after the engine. do what you can afford. a 6.0l weather its a 364-370 will make all the power you want and more.
a 5.3l crank will work it will need to be balanced with the piston and rods combo. balancing is very in expensive. $150 to $250 are rough $$$. just depends if they have to add mallory or take weight away. still have to balance the 6.0l crank also.
