Default got the car back thurs. raced today.

just enjoying it a little
i found out its hard to race a manual without a tach or a shiftlight.
passes were on 18" bfg drag radials that i daily drive on, and the car was run as i pulled it in, full trim, didn't even check the tire pressure, 1/2 tank of gas, sub and amp in the back, all interior, swaybar etc. etc.

10psi boost, water in the intercooler, 93 octane only
i hit the rev limiter somewhere right around the finish line in 4th.
im pretty sure my goal of 130 is do able on these tires once i get the 3.42's back in from the 3.73's in there now... that and a slighty more blistering take off (you'll see)

still waiting on the 5 point cage from wolfe
waiting on the new 12 bolt to get here (rear in the car is sold, which is another reason i spared it the hoosiers )

http://home.comcast.net/~deezuns/mouse129.wmv

only made two other passes, missing gears on both.. hey havent driven the thing since end of november. i'm happy though i would have liked to get that 130 goal out of the way.

this pass is a 11.83 at 128.76 on a 2.12 short time.

Was that a dial in of 11.5x I heard right at the end? Thats a little off, like you expected to hit it first time out right! Glad to hear the car is home, now to watch as it transforms into a street lethal track monster.

Charlie.

David,

Very nice by the sounds of it you were short shifting and your launch was real easy. The turbo didn't even spool till you were out quite a ways. Nice pass for a first try, I'm dying to see what it can do with a good tire and rear end behind it. You done good

I also just noticed and interesting trend, all of the fast 6spd turbo cars, mine and Raymer included are, Formulas Coincidence......................Some say not

Well done Dave.

yea with the dfi just finished, the tach does not work, and the shiftlight i ordered didnt make it here in time so i was literally winging the shifts by ear.

thanks guys.

Pretty good runs considering. MPH seems off a bit though for 630ish rwhp....maybe it's just due to the incorrect shift points? I went 10.89 @ 128mph in the Z 3yrs ago with about 525rwhp. Of course that was with a 400turbo and trans-brake launch.....

Did they attempt to piggy back your harness w/ the DFI or didnt ya care to do that....
looks to me like you could use a gear change so when your ready top do 135 -140 you'll be set in that department.

rear on the way has 3.42, this one is 3.73, will be what i need.

yes it is working with my stock computer, everything in the car works exept the tach because of the different signal it needs vs the one that dfi outputs. should get it working this week.

im slowly learing my way around the dfi, but its 'sorta' like edit combined with auto tap, and you just hit enter to update the changes, that and it highlights the box that the car is currently running in, in whatever grid you are looking at

sweet deal! i wish i could hear it, but im at work so i have to keep it down.
130 will be nothing, just add a little more boost to make up for traction. hehe.
You sure you need 342 with the hoosers? they are 27's right?
what do you rev to? I was doing 132-133 last year with 373's and 27's and it was around 6000-6200, not sure if this might help.
Do you still have thet chart with gear and tire size? i'd like to look at that for my new set up. i was wondering if i would need new gears as well.
Anyway, nice times. cant wait to hit the track, us northern guys still have another month!

Great trap speed... there's more ET in it for sure, when you get traction and better shifting technique. Congrats!

brad, the 3.42's will get me over 130 on my street tires at 6500rpm, and good for right at 150 on the 27" hoosiers

black ls1, thanks. the soft as a baby's bottom shifting was to make sure this trans stayed working at least until the backup arrives... next week or so.. i managed to miss gears on the first two passes so i really had to make sure all three connected on this pass.

Good to hear you finally got it to the track Dave. You planning on being at MIR in April for the shootout?

BTW you might want to talk to Joe O about the tach issue. Not sure if he's gotten it to work either.

Must be nice to go down the 1320 again. Look forward to your results once you get a shiftlite in the car.
