I love the line they come up with, about "who wants to see an all turbo field of cars"

We do!!!

Im aware of (from phone calls only) about 25 cars wanting to run so far.

I love the idea of the portable dyno. That being said, it could perhaps be a seperate "deal" meaning it is its own little shootout with entry fee and prizes. If any business has a portable dyno and perhaps would want to talk logistics call me 423-605-2083, names Sam.

NOW... i have discussed in great detail the rules with many racers and im definately wanting a set of rules that make the most sense in the "spirit of competition" and coincept of this race. A junkyard motor with all hell thrown at it.

Ls7 or ls9 motors are stepping away from that, hell so are ls3's to an extent.

Im keeping this race simple and fun. Im thinking of the nitrous guys... a nitrous car WILL get paid at this race. $500 to the fastest Nitrous only assisted pass. No eliminations, no matter if in street or outlaw class. Break off a low et during qualifying and if it stands thru the race you get the money.

Looking for payout and sponsors for "street stock" class. Again call with any info or email sam@stockshortblockshootout.com

COMPETITORS>>> I WANT your build pics, your ride info, your combinations. I want a competitors page with profile of cars and racers who plan to attend. I will keep it updated weekly on the website. Unless your car is some secrete squirrel stuff in a skunkworks program... I want your info. I thnk it will show interest and inspire other people to get creative. (you dont have to spill all your secretes just enough) AGAIN. email to the website, your name, car (year make model) engine platform, poweradder, and what class. Send as many pics as you want!

from their site -

"If your car Runs into the 9's or 8's... be prepaired to have the right cagework and requirements per the tracks rules and your own safety."

per track rules doesnt mean nhra rules...just call it an outlaw event and nhra certs dont apply, BUT if you want to go 140+ mph with no cage thats your life

The track is not an NHRA track. But the owner may stop you if you make a 9 second blast with no rollcage at all. There is a safety line here.

This is a great idea! I like the budget minded side of it - aftermarket heads and huge tubbed slicks would ruin that. And I also can't wait to see motors blowing up - part of this is to see how far these motors can be pushed. I want to know what the guys did who keep their motors together, and what the guys did who blew everything apart. Some great info on these motors will come from this event, I'd hate to see junk yard truck motors skyrocket in price though, lol.

If you look at the rules you will see that both of those are allowed. Big tires, and Aftermarket heads.
