Some more progress. Dont know if i ever elaborated on the motor setup. Baker built the bottom end and assembled/installed the heads for me.

Iron 5.3 bored to 5.7
Wiseco -11cc pistons with upgraded wrist pins
K1 Rods
K1 Forged Crank
799 heads with a valve job
LS9 Gaskets
ARP head and main studs
BTR Stage 2 Turbo Cam
BTR Springs
LS6 Ported oil pump
Hardened Pushrods
Stock Rockers with trunion upgrade
LS7 Lifters (really want Morel link bar lifters!!)
Improved Racing Oil Pan Baffle
LS6 Intake with a ported TB

Heads will be upgraded next year, too much money spent this year lol.

Got the SJM kit installed. Do yourself a favor and spend the $100 on the Rigid 458R wratching flare tool. Absolutely beautiful and easy flares, every. single. time.

MWC chassis kmember fits beautifully. I am an idiot and didnt realize they dont have stock style mounts on their A-arms soooo guess im going to have to orders Viking coilovers sooner than i thought. Stock A-arms to get the car moving for now though.

Motor and trans are back together. Going to put them on the the kmember and roll that beast back under the car. Hopefully i can get it up and running this weekend! Tune is scheduled for next Friday at Dynotune Motorsports in Columbus Ohio. Brian always does a great job, so he will continue to get my business.

I know BTR has good stuff, but why didn't TJ spec you a cam? Tj really knows how to spec a turbo cam

It's basically a throw away cam. I'm changing heads and turbo next year so there was no reason to have him waste his time. I'm gonna have him do one once I finalize the setup. I always wondered how much I'd gain or lose with a turbo cam, compared to what I had in there. Should be a good lil experiment

What brand kmbr is that? I bought a used (supposed) UMI kmbr for my 5.3 but somethings not right. The fbody oil pan sits directly on the crossmember. There's 400 bux wasted. I'm thinking of going BMR turbo crossmember now. Yours setup looks good. Looking forward to seeing your performance on the dyno and strip.

So I just read through your whole build thread(IDK how i have missed it over the past 3 years). So you ran a El-torro cam up until the motor got a knock in it correct? That is the cam I have(version of it) and that is one thing that I have always been worried about when switching over to turbo but it looks like you got good results out of it. Can not wait to see what your new setup makes! I have a HSP T4 kit and am now working on getting alot of the other parts I need to get the kit on and then start upgrading from there. Great build and car!! Keep the updates coming!

Glad it's still entertaining to someone! Yeah I ran the el torro up until recently. Car ran really well with it, sounded awesome too! Just run it, if you already have it installed.

The car is running btw, I'll update later. Tune scheduled for Friday

Got the motor in the car and its running! Mayyyy have a leak on my waterpump, no idea how since it was fine before.. but there was some coolant leaking under the pulley? Warmed the car up and it stopped for now but we'll see. Break in and tune is scheduled for Friday at 2pm.

Still need to put the driveshaft in the car, bleed the brakes, add trans fluid, and find a home for the catch can. Temporary hose routing on the can for now! Obviously needs the last intercooler pipe installed too. I think its looking pretty darn good

Always nerve racking the days leading up to the tune. Just don't want anything to happen!

The improved racing baffle helps prevent oil starvation on hard cornering and launches. This car obviously won't corner hard so it's for launch improvement. Go to their site and read about it, they have good data

Results are in and they are GOOD. Brian at Dynotune Motorsports in Columbus Ohio treated me well as always. Day started off horrible, UHaul didnt have my trailer at 7am.. that i reserved 5 days ahead of time. Finally arrived for my 10am tune around noon on Friday.

Strapped the car down and we couldnt get past 4000rpm without the car missing in one cylinder on the passenger side. Couldnt pin point the issue so after swapping coils and plugs and plug wires around i went and bought new wires and plugs. Installed them and voila, clean pull, 700+whp @12psi on the first clean pass, only about 5 hours later..

This is when Brian and I started having some fun because the car did this! Turn your volume up!!

Pulled the air filter off and i picked about 40whp and made 891whp/956tq @ 22.9psi! (Ill post the graphs tomorrow). Not bad a measly old cast wheel 76mm on an iron 347. Also out of fuel pump as seen by the AFR below..

Car needs an alternator really bad, truck alt aint cutting it. We had to hook a battery charger up and leave it on engine start to give us the volts we needed at RPM. It was dropping to 10v without it and the car goes stupid lean obviously. Ive got a Powerbastards upgraded Alt. on order as of today and im upping the grounds, should be good after that ( i hope..).

Car turned out great IMO. TJ put together one hell of motor for me! It's quiet and took the "break in" in like a champ. Motor had mayyyyybe 3 miles on it before seeing 12-23psi. IDK why but this car loveesss to make torque

Loving the new engine bay look compared to the old red bay!

It has a stock ported TB , ls6 intake, and 799 heads with a light valve job. Simple stuff.

Congrats on the numbers! This is exactly where I wanna be at with my car one day.( once it's gets off the back burner) that is some crazy TQ also. Did you have the gate pinned shut to make 23psi? Or was it threw the boost controller

All i did was crank down the manual controller as far as it would go. Backpressure was definitely high though, it came down to 19psi at 6500rpm. Turbo is done.
