Killer numbers.

Running headstuds or mainstuds? I cannot believe it's withstanding this amount of power!

Welp guys, I think my stock bottom end saga is over. I was trying to make the track on sunday and a night of racing next weekend so i had the car out last night making pulls to see if it would hold up before i made the trips.

It was 55* out and just beautiful boost weather, car was on 19-20 psi. Im pretty confident it was making 850whp or more since it made 806 on a 95* humid *** day. Car was running HARD. I made 5-6 pulls, all started in 2nd or 3rd and ran through 4th gear. Car still has great oil pressure, it didnt puff any smoke or stumble, it's just a lil noiser if you catch my drift haha. Ill dive into more today but I'm 98% sure it bent the rods. I didnt hear the knocking until i got off the highway, so who knows how many pulls i made with them bent haha.

45-145 (speedo isnt changed for new gear/tire/trans combo)

All in all, it lasted about 20 all out pulls at this power level dating back to the tune.. I really think if the motor was in a lighter car it would be fine and maybe if i could have ramped in the boost, this thing makes all its torque super early. It's 3650lbs with me and i had a 200lb passanger last night.

I'm proud of the motor, I had every intention of pushing it this hard. Did i get greedy? Absolutely, but thats why i have a rotating assembly ready to rock. Time for more upgrades!

Thanks for following along.

Side note- the TR6060, Mcleod RXT, Tick Master Cylinder and MGW shifter combo is absolutely awesome. Its so easy to drive and has just been awesome to shift under power. Not one single complaint.

I realllllyyyy wanted to run this weekend. Thats the only reason i wish i wouldnt have pushed it so hard. I should have turned it back down 16psi and run it for the night. Thats my only regret. It just would have bothered me leaving something on the table if i was barely losing some races, I would have ended up turning that **** back up

Whats the details on your twin pump setup?
How much timing are you running on that 800whp tune?

Do you plan on staying with the 7675? Doing a forged 330 in my trans am right now. also running a 6 speed. leaning towards the 7675 as well.

Its a dual 340 setup from Lonnies. Timing was around 20*. Im sticking with this turbo for now, havent decided on twin 62s or an 80mm when I'm ready to step it up again.

Either way, the car is completely torn down now. Decided to paint the engine bay to match the car better. Plan is to get the iron 347 built and put a MWC kmember up front. Gonna shoot for an August deadline. Still need to buy a cam, springs and some other small stuff but it adds up quick.

This was my first time pulling a motor from an Fbody! Super easy if you follow the tech writeup, only took me about 4-5 hours working by myself.

Bit the bullet and the motor is going to TJ and Baker Engineering in the next couple weeks, he said it should be a 2-3 week turn around. Ill put an order in for the MWC Kmember soon, so hopefully they dont have a long lead time. Shooting to have it on the road in August!

Speaking of the motor, it bent the number 8 rod just enough to start kissing the crank. ( Yeah it took me a few months to get around to tearing the motor down)

That LS1 fought a good fight... Make the bottom end into a coffee table or something. Good luck with it man, the new stuff should be nasty.

What did you cut the delete panel with?

I'm wanting to keep heat, but ditch the ac and have been debating using a small hole saw & rubber fitting to ensure a tight fit.

And by the way, this is a SICK car!

I made mine out of sheet metal, using a cardboard template.

I bought the plate from BMR and then cut/drilled the extra holes needed to bolt it to the outside. Its made to go behind the dash when you pull the heater core from the inside, I dont want to deal with pulling the dash until I put a cage in the car.

I lined the edges of the plate in that insulating weather door tape/foam from Lowes. I also put it around the hole i cut for the heater core lines.

Thanks for compliment!

Its all coming together now! TJ at Baker Engineering made quick work of the motor build! Top notch shop, extremely clean, very friendly and they did work i didnt even request, like paint the block. They did laugh when i pulled up in my Civic to pick up the longblock, it fit though!

MWC Kmember and A-arms showed up last night. Mighty mouse catch can and improved racing oil pan baffle on backorder but should be here in the next week or so! Things are looking good for an early August start up and break in. Break in on 4psi or so then heading straight to the dyno to give it all the turbo can spit out. Plenty of updates on the way.

sub'd. I have the APS twin turbo kit but I think Im going to pull it and sell it in favor of a single turbo setup. Easier to work on and cheaper at that. Loving your build man. You've got my favorite color!
