And thanks Tally! Been a long time since I was using your build thread to help me along! Time flies.
Hoping to hit the track in the next few weeks, pending work and weather.

Thanks guys, wasnt sure how many people still read this old thread.. The title is way off now!
My expectations for the track arent very high. Im thinking traction will be an issue unless someone lets me borrow a pair of bias ply's. The rear suspension needs a lil love too. Still on a stock rear sway bar and comp. engineering 3 way shocks. Just about the only stuff i have left on the car from when i originally got it lol.
We'll see what happens, as long as i see mid to low 140s out of the car and i drive it to and from the track, ill be happy.

Our F-body's had similar issues with boost dropping in the top end with manual BC's. We put AVCR's in both of them and upped duty cycle and they hold fine now.
Congrats on set-up!

Im back to 3.50s in the rear end. Stock WS6 wheels with 28in M&H DR's for wheel/tire.
Yeah i have an AMS-500 that i am going to hook up one of these days, just didnt want to mess with it on the dyno since it was a new setup. MBC was about the only thing that didn't change, so i trusted it!
Thinking I'll wire in high boost to my brights so i dont have to take my hands off the wheel. I never use my brights, so i may just remove the bulbs. One click and its in the higher boost setting. I'll never get the car to hook from 1st or 2nd gear at 20+lbs, so i need to do something! Hit 3rd gear, "turn my brights on", and away we go.
Boost leash with boost by gear, viking coilovers, and new wheels/tires for next year. Too much money spent this year!

The car won this weekend..
Since the car had voltage issues on the dyno, i ordered a Powerbastards 220amp truck alternator to fix that and i upped the ground/power wires. Came with a slightly smaller pulley so i had buy a new serpentine belt. Installed everything and was taking the car for spin when the damn belt just SHREDDED. Luckily i was in front of my grandparents house so i pulled it in their garage, went and picked up some tools and a new belt from NAPA and got her going again. Put about 100 miles on the car and so far so good. Think it may have been from the tensioner, which i removed after seeing a chip in it.
Next up, while trying to see if the new alt had fixed my voltage drop issues (it did, 13.5+V all the time), i started making some 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear pulls. Car went stupid lean in every gear once i hit boost (back on 12lbs for now), like AFR's in the 13-15's lean. I never stayed in long but i needed to log some data and see what the car was doing. Mind you, the car just got tuned and made fantastic power, last thing on my mind is fuel issues but it would just not stop going lean.
My fuel pressure gauge inside the car doesnt work cus the sensor on the pressure regulator was leaking so i threw the mechanical gauge on for the tune. Turns out the only time i have ever have an issue, is when the gauge isnt working. Started pulling fuses and found that one of my pumps isn't turning on anymore.. even though it was FINE on the dyno. Didnt have time to dive into it but at least i pinpointed the issue. Hopefully its a wire problem and not a dead pump but E85 aint the friendliest, claimed the sensor already!
New pressure sensor on the way for this weekend and hopefully everything will be back to normal!! I just want to make pullllssssss

Car won AGAIN. Put a new fuel pump in place of the dead one, car still dropped fuel pressure went lean.. but not as bad. Which is what really pissed me off.
SOOO i drove to summit with my buddy and i bought 2 Walbro 450's. Came home home and installed them. Car STILL ******* DROPPED PRESSURE AND WENT LEAN. At my witts end, i borrowed his fuel pressure regulator. Hit the highway to make some pulls and datalog, first pull, car was a lil lean but wasnt doing the same thing as before.. 2nd pull, car seemed to stay pretty steady. 3rd pull, car FINALLY held a constant AFR and the fuel pressure didnt drop. The narrowband voltage stayed steady, afr was pretty solid (regardless of the number), and the pressure held to within 1-2psi. Still reading a lil lean, but im not convinced my wideband is correct, its always been off and seems to get worse every year. i was just using it to look for consistency and correlation to fuel pressure in the logs.
How the hell does a fuel pressure regulator go bad? I took it apart and there wasnt really anything wrong. Its an Aeromotive, but im going to buy a Magnafuel next.
Anyway, after it finally held pressure, i turned around to head home and the car just dies, no fuel pressure. Get the car towed home, pull the bucket and the one damn line i didnt replace just blew out. Its the corrugated line that connects the pumps to the feed line. Go figure. Easy fix, but frustrating nonetheless since its my own fault for not replacing that line.
Im pretty tied up the next few weekends with a bachelor party in vegas, a wedding, and the buckeyes season starting.. but hopefully i can iron out what small stupid issues are left and finally make a pass at the track before the weather turns! Car is only on 12lbs while sorting the issues, ill work it back up once im confident in the fueling.
The success of the weekend is that i now have more than enough pump to do whatever the hell i want with!! I think it came out pretty good considering i did it in a few hours.
Proof they went in..

You know how they specify, "80psi max" on the regulator? does this mean 80psi base pressure PLUS whatever boost, or is 80psi absolute max with boost included on top of your base pressure?
If its the latter, then i guess i overworked it.. I am at 60psi base and we ran 23psi through it a few times, that would put me at 83psi.
Magnafuel's are rated to 85psi, but after i get bigger injectors ill drop the pressure.

Well Vegas was insane and i spent far too much money but holy hell was it worth it! The wedding ate up another weekend as well.
The good news is i finally got the car sorted and working like it should. Got back to wrenching last weekend, it blew ANOTHER corrugated fuel line a couple weeks back and i had to go towed home again. So needless to say i was pissed and wanted to make sure it wont happen again. Redid the fuel pump setup with pneumatic fittings from harbor freight of all places. And a 3/8 to -8an fitting. -8an PTFE hose to the pumps. Its not going anywhere..
You'll notice i added a check valve too, car seemed like it was having issues build pressure when i was in the key on position and they primed. Couldnt find a good answer on whether or not 450s have an internal check valve. Wont hurt anything, car starts fine either way.
I rerouted the supply line at the firewall to be safe, and i swapped out the fuel filter. I think the filter may have actually been the problem. I'm the thinking it was twisted enough to flow fine at idle/base pressure, but when it wanted to build pressure and pump more fuel through, it just couldnt do it. it was clean though, which threw me for a loop. Here it is:
I put over 150miles on it this night without an issue! Held 11.3AFR across the board and i couldnt be happier. She's running great and i cant wait to turn it up and give it hell! Gonna work on a few things after i see how it does around 20lbs, i was back on 12lbs while i sorted issues.
Still trying to make the track.. obviously havent been able to since i just got it straight this weekend. Im seriously just happy its all sorted out now though. Feels good just to drive it after all the work (and f*cking money!) ive put into it.

Vegas is one hell of a time! I try to make it a once a year thing but money doesn't always allow. Glad I'm not the only one with problems with the lines in the tank, I think e85 has a lot to do with making the material soft. I have the 98 tank and I don't see how id get 2 450s in there. I have one 450 and one 340, and its dam tight. Can't wait to see some times from the car!

I have the plastic tank, and I maayyyyy have filed some relief into the one edge of the tank opening.. there is a rubber gasket that runs around the edge and in one spot i took away some extra material without compromising the seal. Bucket and pumps come in and out like its stock.
