Default STS possible exhaust leak???....video inside. UPDATED with P0300 and ex man temp scan

I have not had the assembly welded yet so im hoping this is the cause. I did a cylinder balance test with hptuners and all cylinders yielded between 94-98%, so i wouldnt assume an internal problem. Just curious if anyone has ran into this. Thanks for the help everyone! BTW..in the video i say i had a hooker catback....it was a Borla with the adjustable plates. I did this with my blackberry so the sound is alot more clanky than it is in person. Sounds like puffs of air. Just clicky on the pic...

Thats no exhaust leak I've ever heard. To me it sounds like the is something in there the turbo ate.

If it's a exhaust leak you should be able to hear it under the car or on the side of the car. If you can't narrow it down I would drop the turbo and run it with the turbo off.

I know most exhaust leaks have a "tick" kinda sound when leaking close to the maifolds where as this is more like a "puff". Almost like a sticking valve or something....but, I figured a balance test would point out something like that. I may just drop the turbo as suggested and see what happens.

Have you driven it? Also how did the noise start?

i have driven the car slightly.(pending tune) The sound seems to get less with rpm although its hard to tell from inside the car. From what Ive been around....the best i could compare the sound to is similar to having a spark plug removed....just alotta air passing. As stated before....i would figure the cyl balance would have told me alot....in relation to a fouled plug, bad wire, sticking valves, etc. Am i correct in this?

I've always done it the old fashioned way with a compression check. Did you check to make sure the wastegate isn't leaking or the mounting bolts aren't loose?

Shot the manifolds with a temp gun and this is what ive found....Bank 1 is running avg 300 deg F. Bank two averages around 550-600. P0300 code now. What would cause one bank to run so much cooler. ST fuel trims are as high as 35-50 at idle. LT has been disabled. Only change to my stock tune so far were for the 48lb injectors. Egr has been removed as well as AIR. Blocked off of course. Just puzzles me that one bank would be that much cooler than the other.

If you put the clues together P0300, the sound and the difference in temp. I would look for a dead cyclinder in bank 1. Check the simple stuff first,
