Default twin turbo and a 6 speed?

So I am about to deploy in a month and when I get back I am going to re do my f body. I am making her a 6 speed for sure. I was looking at the aps twin Turbo. my buddy was telling me that I should keep the a4 with the Turbo because shifting will cause me to loose a lot of boost. So my question is how much will shifting effect boost?

what are you going to use it for? if your just driving it on the street and dont care about quick take offs manual will do, if you want to drag it and get low consistent 60' go with a 4l80e or turbo400 depending on what you can afford.

are you getting a used aps kit cause they dont sell those for fbody's anymore.

it is going to be a street/strip car but more for the street. I didn't know they stopped making those kits. I have a lq4 that I am going to make a 408. I am just trying to decide on the power adder. if I can't find a kit I like then I'm going to build it for a 200 shot.

I am stationed in alaska but I am stop moved for this deployment so I'm hoping for somewhere warm when I get back

Not sure it APS is still selling their kits. I would also look at the KYTP twin kits. As long as you have a bigger motor (408) and smaller turbos (61-67mm T4) you shouldn't have issues with spool time on the street. 6 speed FTW!

If dyno queen is you goal, 6 speed is the way to go. If you want to win races, you'll want an auto.

You need to check out Modular Turbo/CBR Performance's twin kit. I just an hour ago got back from there picking mine up. You have no idea what first class work this is. There is no other twin kit as tirelessly thought out as this. Period. No one is more picky than me when it comes to build quality and they nailed it.

I'm building an iron 383. I just posted a thread about my trip. Shooting for 800+ at the wheel.

There twin kit would probably be ideal for you, just send your car to them while your deployed and when you get back you'd have a twinturbo car waiting for you.

That's what they all say. You've never driven a fast auto with a stall have you? IMO, it's more fun to win races.

Just trying to save you some time and money because you will end up with an auto regardless. And when I say auto, I don't mean a 4L60.
