Default d1 or Turbo?

The only reason I ask is because a buddy will sell me a complete d1 kit for 2500. So I an either go procharger or go Turbo with the starting with modular Turbo hot side kit. I know that d1 kit is around 5 or 6k new. So for that price should I go procharger or Turbo?

You'll probably spend more than $2500 on a turbo setup, assuming that D1 kit is "everything" needed.

D1 is complete. I think I can do a Turbo for well under 2500. I already have parts I can sell to offset some of the difference. I would get the modular hotside kit, eBay Turbo, 317s, and ls6 intake to start. I already have the fuel system to support 500-600 rwhp. This would be to start off to get it on the road.

depends on the condition and what goodies they have.. any where from $3-$5000

youll need the cold side for the turbo, plus a wastegate, BOV, oil feed/drain lines, vaccum lines, gauges are highly recommended...AFR/fuel pressure gauge. just a thought. plus the misc hardware youll need. theres alot of little **** that nickle and dimes you to death. need a 2-bar map sensor too.

what kind of fuel system do you have? what # injectors?

I wouldn't pass up that d1 and I build turbo parts on the side. Jump on that, and run it

I have 42s and the racetronix kit. So, basically the procharger would be best since I'm starting from scratch. How much power can I get out of a d1? My friend put down 548 on a stock ls1 with bolt one

ur gonna want at least 60 # injectors, you will max those 42's real quick. and youll want the hotwire kit for the racetronix pump if you dont already have it. i have full bolt ons and a non-friendly boost cam and made 571rwhp. ive seen people get 7-800rwhp with a D1 but they were built for it of course. but it all depends on whats done to the car and how good of a tuner you have. hitting 500 wont be a problem with some simple supporting mods. LS1 respond pretty well to boost. What mods do u have done to ur car?

That's a good price for a D1 kit! I love my procharger, but I won't mind trying out a turbo kit either tho. for that price go with the procharger, if u don't like u could flip it and buy a turbo kit then

2 things come to mind...

IF you plan on running a power level that the D1 can support then I say go with that Procharger for sure that is one hell of a deal.

BBBBUUUUUTTTTTTT........... IF you are planning on more power later it will be alot harder and more costly to raise the bar with the Procharger. Where as with a good turbo setup you can just swap out the turbo and/or turn the boost **** up
