427 LSX & GT-55 Turbo
Currently I am looking to change the build in my sig. I have my 440 all built and ready to drop in, it has not been started yet, and wont be because the shortblock it for sale. I will be using the top end of my current build and everything else, not the crazy camshaft of course. LME will be building the 427 LSX at 9.5:1 with my 70cc heads. Spoke with Jose at FI.com and he recommended the GT-55 T6 turbo (I believe he said 1.12AR but I'm not sure) sounds like the GT-55 with at 427 might be on the smallish side, he recommended doing with twins of a different turbo, not sure I want to get into that plumbing. The headers will be from StainlessWorks Down and Forward, 1 3/4" x 3". The cylinder heads will still maintain the solid valvetrain. Not to sure about the fuel system, yet. The intercooler will be an air to air. And RPM built TH400 manual valve body, no brake.
Not sure what I am looking to do with this build, it is just something kinda cool to build, to see all that power and yet drive it around town.
-Any suggestions or comments will be awesome, does anyone have any photos of a nice twin setup that I might reconsider?
Thank You!

A 427 and a GT55 are a great street/strip combo. The GT55 with the 1.12 will spool very quick and will make gobs of power. More then probably you will be able to stand. If you want more of a top end machine, but still want decent spool and single, then go with the Garrett GT98. We have a few on this board running that unit.....1300+rwhp and still spools quite easily with that size motor. Twins are nice indeed, but just tough to package with all the piping.

Gordon, In response to your PM:
The kit (including headers) was fabricated by Josh @ Kentucky Turbo. Just FYI, the powersteering bracket is custom in order to tuck the powersteering in a little tighter for the pulley to clear the collector. At the time it was tough to get but now a couple of guys are selling similar ones. I want to say that Modular Turbo just released one.
Wiring is all custom. Relay box is inside the car and the wiring going to the front bumper for headlights, turn signals, water hoses for intercooler, etc is all run inside the frame.
Please note that the car belongs to Steve Smith (LS2Formula). I tune it, consult on the combo specs and do all the write-ups. It has now been upgraded to twin PT7675's which actually spool even faster despite the larger exhaust wheel.

Yes they are a cheap way but they work great. Turbo's like exhaust velicity and heat. The truck manifolds help with both of those things.
