Default Built 348 Twin turbo sizing

Looking for some advice on twin turbo sizes. Built 348 looking for 1000hp. T3 or T4, prolly will be going with something billet wheel from precision. Any help would be appreciated. Stepping away from my pt88.

PT6765 billet wheel with the .81?AR and the v band turbine inlet. I used them on a 427 which is way more cubes but they spool instantly on that so I think they would spool decent on your 346 and they are really small and easy to package.

Note: Im not a turbo expert and this is JMHO.

I'm not sure the 62 turbine will support 1k.
But a old std twin 6165 flows about the same as a T88 with more exhaust flow.
61/6365's with a .69 or .81 exh housing will get you in the 8's with the right setup.
The 61's should be good to about 1200 and the 63's a little more.
67's are better for a bigger motor or low 8's.
225-232 is plenty of cam also to go low 9's also....
That's all assuming 18-20 psi in the manifold.

I'm assuming that your car is an auto? and just to clarify, are you wanting 1000 @ the wheels or crank? co'z I don't think you could get 1000rwhp with a 348ci, auto and t3/t4 turbos, you would definately need a pair of t4 to achieve that numbers.
Where are you planning to locate the turbos?

If I remember correctly, looking at the compressor maps for a stock cubed LS1, the GT35R's were just about perfect for best efficiency. Pricey though. Try to get as close to those as possible.

Where are you guys getting 62mm turbos are not good for 1000hp? Hell one 6265 has gone over 750rwhp!!! Twin 6765's is over kill for what he is looking for. I like the idea of twin 6266's with .82 A/R's..

1000rwhp 6262 t4 will make it it might be best in the long run to go with 65's though

6262s are GT35 equivalent, actually, larger by a little.

6766s would make 1500 hp, but depending on what you do with the car, it may not light like you want it to.

This has been my experience, first hand, on built 348s. 9ish compression, 3 different setups.

twin 52s, 20 psi by 3500, 800 rwhp max Peak power 5600, peak torque 4000.
twin billet 58s 20 psi by 3900, 1050-1100 rwhp max. peak power 6700, peak torque 4500
twin billet 62s 20 psi by 4600, 1250, ran out of fuel. peak power 7200-7400, peak torque 5000.

This will ALL change with turbine housings, camshafts, compression, and fuel.

What are your goals? faster than the pt88? Id go 6766, as they will spool a little later, but peak power production will put you close to mid 5s @ 127-130+ depending on the combo.

6262's would be my choice.

Or these choices are much cheaper and would do the same as the billet pte's.

Two of these with .88 AR they also make a 60 and a 66 with the 60&63 having 68mm turbines and the 66 having a 73mm turbine...http://www.workturbochargers.com/pro...category_id=37

good for 1200 hp in twin format...http://www.workturbochargers.com/pro...category_id=52

Easily good for 1300+ in twin formathttp://www.workturbochargers.com/products.html?page=shop.product_details&flypage=fl ypage.tpl&product_id=115&category_id=52

Both of those last turbo's have 76mm turbine wheels

I had 6265's on a 348 and loved them. I just stepped up to the 6765's since I have a 402ci now so It will be neat to see the difference. 1k is very doable with the 6265's.

What do you want to know? It pushed water like nobodies business! Harlan built a similar setup, twin 66s. He went 8.2x @ 166, changing head gaskets more than underwear!

This setup was eventually scrapped before anything came of it.

I would most definitely not build another one. Not with whats available today for blocks and heads. If you wanted to build a 6 bolt 346/358, that would suit those mid frame turbos well.
