Yeah doesn't make sense because you replaced bearings at the start. Just must've been a freak thing that just happened.

Thanks man! I'm going to try. I'm in sales and my boss actually was excited when I told him what happened haha. Because he knows I will be motivated to sell more now. Gotta love it

Yeah if mine blows I may do a cheap high mile 5.3 cause it would be cheaper than getting the 6.0l ready I have. Its the work I hate. Wish they just stayed together forever haha.

Did you resize the rods when you added the ARPs to the rods?

I would still put forged rods and pistons in it. What was your bearing clearance?

Put a nice pan on it while it's out like MustangBrkr said....come on you know you wanna...

New cam maybe too.... I had to do it!

Well got the motor out and just as expected found one nasty spun bearing. Actually stacked on top of each other. Couple others were a little beat. So tomorrow picking up another motor found it for $300. Haven't decided if I want to just throw it back in stock bearings and all (inspired by dudeman lol) but a very frustrating thing to fail. If I had some bent rods and was on the edge i would go forged but I really am not up for spending a ton on a motor right now so I will try this next stock bottom and hope for the best. But believe me this time around either ill add meth or always run race gas when I run 12+psi and 13+° timing. Here's a few pictures

Wow very similar.
Did you have stock bolts and bearings? What did you end up doing and any issues since?
I'm picking up an 03 lq4 but I think they might be the other style rods ill do some more reading and see if that's the only difference and maybe I can use my rods I have currently for this 03 motor. I did find some 2005 rods on ebay for cheap would they be worth it?

Due to money I just got another low mileage ls1 and put some ARP bolts and bearings in it and called it a day. Not sure about different year rods though.

Thanks man its hard to stay motivated but I want to get back out there it was so much fun. This block looks perfect so I think I'm going to forge this motor while I'm running another one. Just going to do it slowly.

Almost all torn down heading to pick up the 03 lq4 now just need to decide what and if I replace bearings and bolts. Can i just swap my 04 rods (ls2 style) to this 2003 motor?? Or just leave the rods that are in here
