Default Exhuast is way too damn loud.... power loss?

My car has custom 3" true duals with dynomax race bullets 23" long and dumped before the axle, no cats. this car is LOUD. Loud as ****... it sounds damn good, but i cant even play with it on the street without looking in my rearview mirror every 10 seconds for cops. Im thinking about getting a catless catback for it to quiet it up. My only concern though is how much power am i going to lose? my setup now is not mandrel bent, and when removed from the car, looks like complete ****. I dont even think it can flow very well by how shitty of a job the exhaust shop did making it. granted they dont have a mandrel bender. anyway... What would you guys do? What are some high flowing cat backs that arent obnoxious. I would LOVE kooks true dual setup, but 1, i dont have their headers, and 2. its $1600, and i think thats a stupid price for a damn exhaust system... so, opinions please. Thanks!

Magnaflow is a free flowing CB, I had it on my car but it was to quite for me. So I replaced it with a corsa and now its loud as hell again. But after going to corsa I would go but to the magnaflow again, it flows good, light weight, and sounds nice with no rasp. Can't really ask for more

imo stay with duals , just upgrade to a better made setup, i would do a custom x pipe ran out the back with some maganflow bullets, duals sound so much better than a catback, i have the tsp duals with st, by far the best setup i have had on the car, no catback even comes close to the killer sound, the only catback i would go with if i didnt have the duals is a gmmg with a magnaflow in the i pipe, also borla is nice, there both loud but sound good, magnaflow is good as well but is really quite, mag with a cutout aint a bad way to go but i would pick duals with ST over a open cutout

Id keep the dual but......way too loud. I dunno if different muffler would make a huge difference. Suggestions on couple of muffler? 10hp isn't a big deal but im not N/A....i see ppl gain 70hp by opening a cut iout on an FI car.... I've thought about magnaflow also. id like to hear that exhaust system with a cam and blower WOT...

Go 3.5" or 4" single.. Those dual bullets are not much for quieting anything...lol. They change the tone a little and maybe cancel out .0005 decibals...lol.

I went from TSP duals to Magnaflow too. TSP sounds awesome but like you said, was LOUD. The mangnaflow is sounds good WOT but its too damn quite now haha. Gonna put a cutout in for the best of both worlds :-)

Did you notice a power loss when you switched? How quiet is it. Cuz i don't mind the exhaust being quiet if i can hear my blower and blow off valve more lol. My exhaust completely downs out thru sound of both at WOT.

look in the true dual stickey for mr.luos s setup, his was quite with a killer sound, dumped duals are very loud, running them out the back cuts down on some noise, magnaflows will tone it down a good but, look at mr.luos sound clips he has a few vids, he also had dual cutouts .

i think just a cutout sounds like crap, i would mauch rather have somekind of tone to it, i plan to run my duals to the back ,add 2 smaller st ,then go into a cme

Thats what I ended up doing, I got sick of how loud the loudmouth was and I ended up putting a spiral flow in its place and added an electric cutout.

that car in the video sounds pretty decent. Mine sounds like a damn drag car...

heres a video of my car, just testing out my gopro, its nothing fancy as far as the video, but hears how loud my exhaust is...

i want to run my true duals out the back with different mufflers, but id have to have them mandrel bent over the axle. i know some people go under the axle but i think it looks tacky..... i wish i could find a mandrel bender near me...

I'm not sure why but Bassani exhaust isn't that popular on here. Its a 2.5" dual system that is stainless steel. It also goes over the axle and out the back. If you look hard enough you can find it for $850 shipped. Half the price of kooks system. The only down side is it setup to bolt up to stock cats, so you have to cut the tube and put a 3" to 2.5" reducer.

I got this system mounted up with some kooks 1 7/8" headers, and it sounds great. It isn't rasp, isn't too loud, and has a very low and mean sound to it. Couldn't ask for more. Plus it goes from headers all the way back over the axle with tips. By the time you buy a y pipe and exhaust system you already spent more money.

Ooooooooo yyaaaaaaa. I forgot all about those exhaust systems. I wonder if id lose n e power going from 3" to 2.5". I wouldn't think so since mine looks like they made the bends with a damn hammer. Lol
