So when are you going back to the track and what do you expect it to run?

i use 2.5 on every car ive built
then i just add in about 6 inches of 3 inch pipe because that fits the T4 flange i use with minimal efford oblonging the piping, then install a wasgetage.

yeah interested! the g8 manifld outlet is pretty small, i thought about doing 2 inch, but stepped up to 2.5 because i had alot of it laying around...

alot of people are telling me on turbo forums i should build a 4 inch downpipe and see if my power goes up.

i might build one and blow it out the hood on a few dyno passes to see if it makes alot more.

its 157 dollars for an unassembled ms1 v2.2

and then 67 for a 8ft harness, shipped its under 250 dollars.

then i use a msd6010 box to control the stock coils and uses the stock crank and cam pickups, and then i program that with whatever timing curve i want.

i just built another ms1 box last night for my friends TBI flatbed towtruck because we did a cam and longtubes and it runs shitty now haha

^ +1.

You should do some vids on YouTube on how to build one. I helped a friend build a V2 for his Boost EG Hatch. **** was FUN.

i buy the 8ft harness and connect it to all my sensor pigtails and injectors and power etc

it does not control an electronic trans. or the ignition the way i do it.

i always use th400s or shift controllers and 80e's

Any reason you dont run ms for ignition too? Im running ms2 on my lq4. It only adds a few more wires and would be several hundred less than the msd box. The newer code even lets you run off just the crank sensor so swapping a zr1 cam is even cheaper because no need for the cam sensor. That only works on the 24x wheel though

how hard is it to tune with one of this systems..? i am really interested in one of this systems. how do you control the ignition and timing.. why cant you control it from the mega squirt it seem it would be too much stuff going on.

sorry i thought i replied to this, i dont do it just to avoid the wiring, i know you can but i have no clear instructions on how to do it and i dont feel like messing with a system that works for me, know what i mean...

its 150 for the ms1, 67 dollar harness and 315 for the MSD box and harness that plugs and plays.

after that i set my timing curve and never really touch it ever again, then i just tune my fueling in real time with the ms1 and im done there too.

i am sure i could take the time to build an MS2 or something and wire into all the coils etc. but honestly i am just not interested, i am waiting till DIY builds a box and harness that plug strait into LSX engines.

it is super easy to tune a MS1 extra code ECU, like shooting fish in a barrel, i could do a video showing the interface and how easy it is, 16x16 fuel table with a map sensor. if you pay 50 dollars for the professional version of Tuner studio (normally freeware but the pro gives you expanded features)

like auto tune, you build an air fuel map for the car and give it some parameters like do not tune under 1200rpm or unless im over a certain map sensor value, so it doesnt **** with your idle or other settings, and then you can drive around and it will automatically trim your fuel table for you.
