Damn I really wish you would have stuck that on the 4.8. Are you going to have mismatched heads on the 5.3?

4.8 has chewy bearings and i dont feel like taking the time to replace them right now anyway

This is what I have been waiting for. I wish you could have tried the 5.3 with the same turbo you had on the 4.8. I think it would have been much quicker through the 330 then the 4.8 was without nitrous.
Now its going to fly but just make sure you sneak up on the tune.

went to throw my 5.3 in today, tossing in the ARP Head! bolts and snapped one off deep in the block, couldnt get it out, scrapping both of the blocks and picking up a 5.3 hopefully by friday so i can throw it in this weekend.

oh well

im sure you know, save the hassle and keep the stock rodbolts. skinnies 5.3s keep the stock rodbolts from what he has said.

Yep we've never done rod bolts on any of our builds and even at well over 900rwhp never saw a rod bolt/bearing issue.

it was a head bolt! ARP head bolt sorry, i would never waste the money on a rod bolt lol

Were you using an impact gun like in the vid when you were tightening the ARP bolts?

Why are they so cheap at your yard? You should buy a bunch for the price you get them for and sell them with a mark up for like 300 bucks. It would be cheaper than a lot of the eBay guys.

oh i have an iron one thats like 30 years old from my dad, wont die,

i bought that one from a neighboor who moved away, and it worked great for a long time till my dad jacked up his van with it... he claims it was ok, but its only a 1 ton and his van is 5500lbs.. and after that its never worked... lol
