What oil pressure do you guys see with your factory oil pumps with the motor fully warmed up at idle ?
And say cruising at about 2k rpm?

I see about 15-20psi at idle fully warmed up at 110 degree weather than about 75ish full throttle. Just Wana make sure mine is ok.

Idle seems kinda low to me when its warmed up. Makes no noise watsover though. Cold idle is about 50psi.

I see 40 @ idle hot, 60 cruising, and 80 on the hammer. When the o ring was bad it idled around 15 and only went to 30 or so max. Lifters would start chattering hot at around 2K rpm. It was feeding air thru them.

Should I be concerned? Mine is quiet with no noises whatsoever .. but mine does go to 75ish. At wot.

Also, what oil you use?
I'm currently running rotella 15w40.

Naah long as it's quiet and goes up to 75 it should be ok. Prob just has a little clearance somewhere.

15-20 idles seems low, when I pinched my oil pump oring I had a 20psi idle.

My 100K mile 5.7 Idles 35-40 warm and 29-30 when its hot, after some hard pulls or a very long drive on a hot day.

I have a ported LS6 pump on mine though.

well pinned down the noise to center mass drivers side
we pulled just this head and we were rewarded.


here was the stock truck cam i never bothered to look at


oh and i picked up a spare 6.0 shortblock!

Lol. Try living in Arizona. It was 111 degrees today.


As I type this is 8;52 pm and its 105 degrees still.
