looking forward to see what this setup is capable of, i might need to upgrade to this turbo too and ditch the gt45

 

feels like it foot brakes better, spools faster than the 45, power feels pretty good at 14 and retarded at 18, we will see what it makes then on the dyno, the gt45 is a beast for the price so this thing has shoes to fill haha.

it sounds great out the exhaust, lots of whistle turbo noises haha as you can hear em a little

car stumbles a bit because it downshifts 3rd then unlocks, and it doesnt do anything gently hahah

 

Is that the air rushing into the turbo on the video where you get close to the inlet or is that the e-fans? Either way, nice!!

So you were never able to get it to build boost on the foot brake with the gt45?
I can build almost 10psi off the foot brake with my 5.3/ gt45 .

 

yeah but your brakes are much better than my **** 82 brakes lol

something interesting we are finding out with these motors that have the 706 casting heads, is they dont make great power.

small valves and poor flow numbers i guess...

i think we are gunna swap heads on my fairmont saturday, to see if that is the case, we have a set of really nice 799 heads.

new turbo sounds great, car sounds like its gunna blow as usual.

good choice, I have one and love it, a bit loud, but it should be the last pump the car ever gets.

 

585whp through a 4l80 and pump gas/meth is pretty damn impressive if you ask me.
now throw some e85 on it and watch it shine!!

 

my odd headed 4.8 did 565whp thru an unlocked th400, with the gt45. on 18psi

with a 863 head and a ported 241

coreys truck did 605rwhp on 17psi locked up with the gt45 in the truck 799 heads.

thats what i am seeing as the common factor.

the grey car we built with a 6.0 and 243 heads made 590rwhp sneezing on 13psi s475
and the converter could barely hold the power lol

 

i mean i am pretty happy, the car sounds great and i am sure it will fly, but i cant help but wonder if i am leaving alot on the table with the stock 706 heads, so we are gunna see.

well 243/799 heads obviously do flow better.

lets see the difference. or you can throw the 317s i sold you and turn up the boost even more.. lol

 

Was there much shaft play on that gt45 when you took it off recently. using no bov. Still no bov on current 80mm setup?

 

I dont see you gaining a lot with the heads.

 

Something isn't flowing enough somewhere, my car has a 76mm in back and made 619hp on only 10lbs of boost. All stock 2004 ls1

 

New numbers locked or unlocked?
