Default Yay! My Kando turbo for APS kit is blown!

So after roughly 100 miles of street driving, and then about 4 pulls on the dyno @ only 9 psi, I went out to start my car and take it around for a little, and the drivers side turbo is smoking like a ***** F#%$er.

So I guess I have just proven to everyone else that these center housings from Kando Dynamic, which they claim are of the "highest quality" are no better than the stock pieces of crap that APS gives you.

Now I am really at ends on what to do with this car... I really wish I could go to a PT88 front mount right about now.

So they are still the stock APS turbos just with different center sections? Same compressor wheels, housings, etc?

This is the center section:

So, the compressor and turbine wheels are that of Kando's.
Basically everything is a Kando CHRA except the hot and cold side castings, which are just that. Cast metal.

Gotta be a fluke. Or return not working. Those have to be pumped? Give it a breath before setting the car on fire.

You are still trying to push 10 lbs of **** through a 5 lb bag. Your motor is too big, and your turbos are too small.

Any idea on backpressure? Any idea if you are over-spinning?

PSI doesn't matter. You need properly sized turbochargers. <- That was a period.

Sorry. But wade is right. Starting with DKT turbos having a 1.06 a/r and a 62 or 66 mm exhaust wheel will really help with back pressure.

I hear you on this, but I still think on how much I have run them, it was still WAY premature. If they had failed after I had been running 20+ psi for 4 years, I don't think I would be as mad. lol

Thanks man, again I hear that. I am just really getting tired of putting money in to this kit and not getting results. I can definetly understand why TomZ28 switched now. haha

Like i said, PSI does NOT matter. I will reiterate, your motor is too big and your turbos are too small. How many people had problems? Do you honestly think it was the center section from APS? In most cases, it was not. These kits were built around a STOCK platform. 346 ci, street driven, 600 hp after the TT install. So instead of pointing toward the "center section," start pointing toward the real problem. I mean, your turbos have a t28 exhaust side. Where this is great for spool, it is terrible for every other facet of your build.

So stop spending money on BS and start spending it on something that will truly fix the problem.

I know, I know, you're definitely right about stop spending money on BS, that's why I'm looking at getting rid of the kit and starting a front mount build. Thanks for the advice so far guys!
