Default Since the racecar is going away...need ideas for next project (street/strip sleeper)

It appears the end of the road for the racecar is upon us...

But I can't totally walk away from what I love

I'm thinking of building a stupid streetcar that is legal to run fast, but the catch is...it has to be a sleeper...so no f-bodies, mustangs, etc.

I have my ideas but am always open to suggestions

Trail Blazer, you don't have to get the SS (keeps the sleeper theme). It has 4 doors, can haul family if needed, has a full frame, and there are quite a few going 9's with LSx's in them.

I say go the old man route and even more so since Oldsmobile doesn't exist. The Buicks of the same era would do too. You could even get some whitewall slicks from Coker tire too.

Me personally, I have always liked the idea of something old and foreign. 60's mercedes, BMW, or an opel station wagon. Easy swap considering everything is mechanical, not a lot of electronics to screw with, less to go wrong.

You can pick up a 70's-80's vintage Rolls Royce pretty cheap.

No more racecar? I would say any models that use the fox chassis of course beside the mustang since we know that chassis can handle to power and parts are cheaper. Wasnt there other models?

What about a '99-02 style Audi A4/S4/RS4 style Wagon.....
You could make an adapter plate to keep the 01E 6speed S4 manual transmission and AWD

or a '97-03 style BMW 5 series wagon?

Audi Wagon is 3600lbs from the factory. BMW is over 4,000.

Nice leather interior, heated seats as an option, good handling, sleeper status for sure.
