Nate, I saw in the prevoius posts you use the camaro/firebird spring pockets in the front. Do you use sliders or offset shackles in back? I could not find it in the earlier posts.

Long overdue for an update. Finally got the car on the road this season. Turned out just like I envisioned.

Redid the turbo setup again. Wanted to try out fender exit exhaust so I have some first hand experience with it for my customers. At first I installed Dynomax race bullets. Fired it up and was instantly depressed and my wife gave me a frown...ended up taking those mufflers off and replaced them with the previous 10" long aluminum Vibrants. We'll see how long they last with the short downpipes. Probably end up moving to a stainless Magnaflow or something. The sound is the same as when the exhaust was to the axle. The amount of room if freed up and the amount of heat it reduced is tremendous.

Took the car to the track for the first shakedown with all the new parts. Put it on the scales and it now weighs 3090lbs and less than 3300 with me, full of fuel ready to race. We went to a local 1/8th mile in preparation for a little no prep grudge race they have coming up on the 16th. Not exactly ideal running radials but i'm going to give it a try anyway since I can't afford multiple wheel/tire setups. They prepped at the beginning of the day and that was it. First few runs were adjusting suspension and a couple 5.8's at 128 pedaling. Ended up with a 5.59 at 132 after dialing back the boost ramp to 3 seconds. 60ft was off a tad from the usual 1.25-1.30 with a 1.35. Hoping the allowed use of traction compound at the upcoming no prep event allows a little more power to be put down. Hoping to turn it up to its potential in a few weeks at Top End Dragways "Radial Revolution" We'll see how the old 5.3 likes 35psi.

35psi? Holy crap

Are you running an exhaust crankcase evac setup? Do you know how much vacuum it pulls at various loads?

You can see the exits in the above pictures just ahead of the wheels.

Looking good! I'm surprised to hear the fender exit is no louder than the rear exit.

How does the car feel when you are driving it? Is it relatively docile until you mash the gas? Thank you for not cutting the fenders to exit the exhaust...really like what you did.

Looking forward to checking it out at Radial Revolution. Should be up there with my junk. You definitely have one of the most impressive Nova's out there.

Clarification- I thought you sold the cast 66/68's? Looks like they are still on the car or are you running somthing different?

With the lightweight front suspension it does feel a little more racecarish but it will cruise down the freeway at 75mph without issues and I can still talk to my wife in the passenger seat.
