Bought a Lunati Pro Series usa forged crank from a friend and also upgraded the rods to Molnar since the weights made the balancing job much easier. Should be a pretty stout bottom end. Reused the pistons. Had my buddy Jakson bore/hone another Gen 4 block since I found some pretty deep deck irregularities from pushing a head gasket last year.

I found a few pictures that I don't think are in the thread yet.
Interior. This was heading out for Drag Weekend, don't mind the cheesy cupholder.
Precision Products shifter for the reverse pattern manual valve body. Also the bracket with the big TB and bump button.
Cage work from a couple years back

4L80E got some updates at the end of last year. Started talking with Lonnie at Extreme Automatics and we (he) determined that my intermediate clutch troubles were most likely caused by the stock style electric valve body. He was right....a switch to his "Billet 80" reverse manual vb with Griner solenoid transformed how the car performed. No more shifts going away after ten passes. I wanted to wait until I had the transmission apart for inspection this winter to say for sure...but clutches look MINT. Really pleased with this part and Lonnie's willingness to help me push the combo further. PS-I sell them now.

Wow....
Talk about ideas and motivation!!
Ive been following your build on and off, here and there, but didnt know about the build thread on here ( everybody does the same eh!? We have build threads on all the major sites lol!! It is funny to see all the same guys all around tough!!)
I mean, 7.90??? Wow!! Thats fn serious!!! I can only dream of seeing these one day! And then you see those big tire guys, no comfort, full on race cars.... proud to run 11's LOL!!!
Im getting there on my personnal '70 Nova build tough and i have to admit that yesterday, while reading through, you have had me seriously thinking of putting back my nice fitting, perfect condition, steel doors back on the car instead of going forward with my glass ones. I'm happy of whrer im at for now, i still think did a lot in the few months since i started working on and off. I do have a big order coming in this week and thats going to make the car start so im a bit excited!!
Now, I wanted to ask, since im getting to the engine prep and you were talking about blown head gaskets and gouged deck's.... The deck finish on gen 4's is a special one and a lot of talk is going on about it and its questionnable ability to work well with MLS (which are said to be a bit more sensible) head gaskets. I wanted to ask if you use a special finish or do anything to the block or if you just do the usual finishing on your engine? I also have a gen4 block so just trying to avoid any moves i could regret or do otherwise.
Again, AWESOME project and hat way off for all the goals set and met. Its very inspiring to see this and i hope you'll keep us posted on future episodes of the Nova's development!!

I have had the deck surface trued by a machinist buddy and then sanded it smoother with a long board. Not sure the "RA" but its pretty smooth.
New turbos are here! Borg S369 SX-E's. Took them to the bandsaw right away and vbanded the turbine housings. So much easier to work with. Thanks to TurboSource out of Andover MN for the hookup on these.
