LQ4 Turbo Build Thread
No more Questions It's Build Time!!!
Alright guys I'm starting my first build thread.... After many questions I have been piecing stuff together!
This build is a factory rebuild on a LQ4 with ARP rod bolts... Planning on a MAX of 15psi with meth injection!...
Going for over 650rwhp behind a 4l80e and 9in Rear...
Here are some pictures of what is going on...
Dirty Pistons!
Soda blasted pistons!
My buddy spraying off block after blasting!
On the stand!
Taping for paint!
Right now my block is at a shop for cam bearing install because Iv already messed up a set!
TurboSmart Hypergate wastegate
"Brute Speed" Forced Induction Camshaft(EPP Blower Cam)
Running Clevite Main and Rod Bearings with Durabond Cam Bearings!!!
Next on the list...
Will Update as Build Proceeds (College student here so be Patient)

That's the same turbo I have. You don't need to balance it. My turbo has about 300 miles and its perfect. Some other people on here have it also with out any problems.
Denmah is using one on 21psi on a 4.8l with out problems.

Nice build.....
Doing a similar setup LQ9 408 twin turbo with 317 heads. Sound crazy but I'm going to try to make between 1000-1500 hp at around 24-26 psi. when I first I was going to use the gt45 Ebay turbo, but after reading Hot Rod Magazine I changed my mind. I going to use two CXRacing 76mm BB turbo priced around $600 each. If you get a chance look up Hot Rod Magazine project named "Big Bang Theory" and keep in mind that it's a 4.8. I started work on a shave truck intake and stream cross over tubes on the heads for #7 cylinder. Post some pics soon.
