Default dumb questions for a noob to real racing

please humor my complete lack of reseach.

http://x275.net/2012-x275-rules

am i correct that intake manifold plates are allowed for small block?
am i correct that twin turbo's of any size are NOT allowed? being considered?

are they even considering e85? its cheaper than race fuel, i thought this was a 'budget' class?

also, is outlaw drag radial 1/8th only this year? i thought i read that on the MIR site???

Local 275 racing is still somewhat "budget", but if you are thinking about anything big level like MIR, Valdosta, etc, it's by no means budget. It's been a LONG time gone from budget.

e85 is illegal and isn't going to happen.

twin's isnt going to happen. Best chance is to get a LF88 or a Work modified turbo if you are determined to stay turbo.

I'm not sure about MIR ODR 1/4???

am i correct that intake manifold plates are allowed for small block? Correct.

am i correct that twin turbo's of any size are NOT allowed? being considered?Correct, no need for twins when a Large Frame 88 will get you 4.80s.

are they even considering e85? its cheaper than race fuel, i thought this was a 'budget' class? I have always thought the same thing. I see a change in this rule before next year.

also, is outlaw drag radial 1/8th only this year? i thought i read that on the MIR site???
Are you thinking about making MM a X275 Car? Time to pull some weight if so.

LF88 is your best bet for a turbo car.

1/8th mile for ODR and X275 at MIR.

Zach, i seriously doubt ill be in Atlanta, but Kentucky and Indiana weather i have a car or not!

Wayne, why 1/8th? too many accidents?

the intent of the car will of course be true street, but trying to build it with some flexibility to have fun more than a few times a year.

Nothing about x275 is budget, lol

Correction, i guess the same could be said for heads up racing in general.

Yes, its stupid they dont allow E85, its also stupid they even give a weight for a 76mm turbo, becuase im pretty sure, that a 76 as never been 4.x anything at weight.

No e85, no twins, no 1/4 mile heads up small tire racing has always been 1/8th mile.

What do you mean by intake manifold plates?

If you want to race X275 though MIR is the place to do it and you're close Dave.

it says " no port plates or intake manifold adapter plates" but its not clear to me if that was a big block only thing.

I think thats for the BB cars, SB are allowed sheetmetal and dont have any real restrictions on heads and intakes.

What are you doing that you need plates?

Same here, I think you'd be happy with a twin set-up though dave, putting a 315/60 on it all the time, some added cubic inches and I'd bet you could run through the TS field with low 8's high 7's on cruise control and then really turn it up and bust some 4.60's 4.70's out in ODR just to have fun.

You could do the same thing with a LF88 too.

Exile turbo actually has a new Large Frame turbo that has the same hot side as a PT106 thumper (F or G Trim) and is modular. Meaning you can put a 88mm compressor wheel on it as needed, or a 106, 94, 116, 118 etc.

Something to think about.

well at this point anything is possible, would be cool to have one of these 88's for 275 and then strap another one on the opposite side for true street...

ok im dreaming.. fun tho.
