Default Is a meth/water injection kit worth it?

I'm thinking about adding a meeth/water injection kit before I have my car tuned. I was just curious if they are worth it?

I am looking at the Devils Own kit thats on ebay and would use my windshield washer reservoir as my tank, what do you think?

It's worth every dime.
I have a coolingmist on mine.
It has a dual nozzle to it now, but I will only be using it to cool down the iat, I'm not looking to make more power with it. I'm just gona use it for a little bit more of safety of cooler air

The reason people run water methonal is you cool your air intake tempetures down, which helps prevent early detanation from heat and in return gives you a more powerful air change. The methonal is I cant remeber but I think it is 3 times cooler than gasoline and has a higher detanation value which in return you can run more timing and more boost with out having pre-detanation.
So cool Air intake temps, more power, less chance of pre detanation, more timing and or boost, more power.

Devils own kit: I have seen it ran before, I would tell you they are all almost the same until you get to the stage 3 kits. The only differance is the pumps in the kit. If you have a junk pump, which I do not know what the devils oen uses. You will not enjoy the kit. I would run a snow if you wanted quality and a long life span. And, there customer service is pretty awesome. Hope this helps you. GL

Another vote for Aquamist. It is dependant on injector duty cycle and not dependant on boost pressure. Far more accurate as well since it keeps constant pressure at the cylinoid similar to a fuel pump does with a fuel injector.

anything that keeps the temps down is a good investment. as far as bottom dollar kits, i think devils own is among the best. however, the aquamist and alkycontrol systems are the most highly recommended. if i had it to choose from again, id prob go with the aquamist.

I was considering it, but went e85 instead and couldn't be happier. If I didn't have close pumps that have good e I'd go meth on 93 pump gas

The downside for me with e85 is you need so much more of a fuel fuel system in order to make big power, that and the closest place that sells it is 65 miles away from me.

The nice thing about running meoh/water injection is you only need it when you get into boost. Normal driving it never turns on.

30% more fuel. So, pending on your power goals. Bigger Fuel Pumps, Bigger Supply Line, Bigger Return Line, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Aftermarket Rails, Bigger Injectors. On my 03 Cobra I picked up 67hp instant from switching fuels and timing.

Ok I think I will invest in getting a meth kit. Do you guys have any links to where they sell them?

Also I don't need to most expensive/baddest kit out there, just something that will do the job and is good quality.

So in the end it was around the same money as meth.

I run a junk yard 5.3 15lbs of boost in a 4000lb Chevelle, NO intercooler, daily driver and just recently went 118mph in the 1/8th mile and I use the AIS kit. Two nozzles 6 inches away from the Throttle body. No way my stuff would be staying together without the meth kit.

Just to compare my last 496 big block ran a best of 6.31 @108 mph but in the heat only ran 6.50's @104-105 mph. My 118.42 mph pass was after driving to the track and made 5 passes and drove it home in 96 degree weather and a ton of humidity. I use a 70% mix of methonal and 30% water. My timing is now around 18 at full boost. Without the meth I wouldn't run more than 14 degrees. Since I was able to up the timing and run a little more boost, I went from a 6.83 @100 mph to a 6.61 @118mph! Is it worth it? Absolutely!!!!! 3,000 street miles so far on a $500 engine.

My question is: at what point is meth worth it? At what level with FI does it become necessary to start thinking about e85 or a meth/water addition?

You should re title your thread then. That wasn't the question you asked....So much for being helpful.

Then most likely I will be getting a meth kit before I have it tuned. I'm looking at the Devils Own stage 2 kit which isn't bad and is only around $400.

I already had dual walbro pumps, -8feed, fuel pressure reg, rails, and 60lb injectors. I upped to 95lbers and changed out the filter. That was all I needed. I can run more boost safely so on 93 octane at 12.5psi I was making about 600whp unlocked SAE and with e85 at 17psi I am making about 700whp unlocked SAE. e85 gives me the headroom to run more boost and timing safer than what 93 octane alone can afford

Thats definitely one thing I liked the most running in my bimmers is that Meth isn't being sprayed unless i'm in boost so there could be weeks where I won't go over 10psi and never trigger it.
