Pretty sure this was causing at least part of my spool issues...

Have you tried just straight copper RTV with no gaskets?

I had used just copper rtv the first time I put it together and had a leak. Next time I bought these copper ones. Now I did rtv again and it feels like a whole different car!

I guess the "feels like a whole different car" thing didn't work out in favor of the transmission! Second gear started slipping pretty badly last week. Got that pulled out Saturday morning, but haven't had a chance to do much else. The guy I want to take it to hasn't been returning phone calls so maybe I'll have to get a hold of someone else.

Who knew the 10 bolt would outlast a 4l80e!?

Wore out the set of ET streets in 1000 miles so I bought another set of those for the 17" wheels before the $50 rebate ended. Also bought some race stars and 28" Hoosiers to try out. Guess we'll find out how they work one of these days! lol

Here's some more great quality cell phone pics

It's been a little over a month, but the 4l80e is back in now equipped with a rossler brake... that I probably won't use for a while.

Also bought a go pro and had some fun with that tonight. Got a couple races in and a few good burnouts.

All videos are on 10 psi or less... I didn't have a chance at traction until 3rd gear against the z06 since I put on the 7 year old 245 wide street radials. Surprisingly they stuck in 3rd gear though. I was able to just keep pace on the second run. Going to try again with the drag radials one day, but I am assuming it will be very close on the same boost level.

It will be either the first or the second weekend in October. More likely the second since they shouldn't be as tight on tech...

I will be there October 5th for sure. Our local forum (IowaAutoForum.com) has a "shootout", if you will, that day. Come down that weekend.

I am going to try and go up sometime in September as well. I killed the posi in my 10 bolt and need to switch back to my 2.73 10 bolt. Want to make sure I get a few passes in before the 5th so I can hopefully be competitive with some of our local cars and hope the 2.73's work out okay for me.

I already looked into that IA forum day lol. Looks like a fun day to go. If I go on the 5th I will probably stay through midnight mania. The weekend after that is the "Midway Shootout" which is a bunch of guys from MN that rent the track for a day... From my understanding only MN plates are allowed into that, but I'm not positive. I have a little over a month to decide I guess since CFR won't be open for test and tune more than friday fun nights... which in my opinion are hardly worth the trip.

Yeah Friday's are hard to make it to for me. I didn't even think about that. I will probably go to the 1/8 mile track that's only about an hour away to "try" out the different gears.

Found a picture of my shifter install. Forgot I had taken it! It took some getting used to, but I like it better than the stock one now. Easier for me to tell what gear the shifter is in.

Got ANOTHER new set of ET Streets after only 300 miles on the second set... They had turned egg shaped on me for some reason... Summit was decent to deal with and got me another set within a week. After installing the LCA's and getting the suspension set up there is a noticeable difference in traction. No more rolling burnouts on the ET Streets like I used to be able to do!

And while the Mickeys were off I added some undercoating for extra rock chip protection... hahaha

Marks in the oncoming lane... Someone told me they measured out to about 750 feet

Also got the Hoosiers/Race Stars bolted on to see what they look like on the car... Not bad, but I think it should have the matching fronts to look good.

Planning to go to the track again on the 5th and try them out. Hoping I don't have the same issues as last time... Or any issues for that matter!

What model shifter is that? How hard was it to install? I don't mind the stock one, but telling what gear you're in is a pain sometimes, like you mentioned.

Barring any setbacks, I will have my "new" (junkyard) 4L80e in this week. Supposedly it was GM Re-manufactured in '04. Hoping I don't have any issues with it. I assume you had yours built locally? What upgrades, besides the brake, did you have installed?

Glad you will be at CFR on the 5th. It should be a good day for sure. I plan on ringing the crap out of mine that day/night. I haven't had any motor issues yet so I am sure that is next, ha.

TCI Outlaw. Kind of nice to have the reverse lock out.

The trans only has a billet input besides the brake. I had taken it to a guy in Iowa but he didn't get moving on it so I took it to someone about an hour north of me and he got it done right away (except the hold up on the brake).

Funny though! You better be ready to abuse that 10 bolt on the 5th. I still have my buddy's Moser 9 in my car .

Thanks. I've had good luck with it so far. Pretty minimal problems overall!

Got to the track again. This time without issues! Unfortunately I only remembered to data log on a couple of passes. First pass off the spring @ 8psi it went 11.74 @ 131 with a 2.23 60' through the muffler. That matched my previous best ET with an open cutout and 16-17 psi. Most of my 60' times were in the 2.2 range. Trapped 143 mph three times. Here was a couple of those....

Boost peaked at 16 on this run at shifts, but was around 14.5 aside from that.

I managed a best of 10.44 @ 142 but still had a bad 60' of 1.895. lol My car is at the end of the video. Thanks Jakson for recording!

Boost peaked at 17 on this one and was around 15 the rest of the time

I was slowly beginning to work my way up on boost once I started logging and watching injector duty cycle, but then an eclipse blew a head gasket and they were taking to long to clean the track so I loaded up and left while I was still ahead!
