Default D1SC with 11.2:1 compression. Is it possible?

I have be thinking about going forced induction and was wondering if it was possible to run a D1SC with 11.2:1? I am new to the forced induction world and would really appreciate the advice!

my current setup:
347 LS1
stock crank & rods (arp bolts)
diamond forged pistons
cometic head gaskets
243's unported 59cc chambers (quench is at about .035 if i recall)
ls6 intake
ported throttle body
1 3/4" kook's long tubes
streetsweeper cam:
236* / 240* duration
111* lobe separation
.630" / .612" lift

I would imagine the cam is the killer on to the F.I. setup, but helps lower the DCR to 8.5:1 for NA and pump gas. could running E85 and meth kit make it possible? is the duration and lobe seperation on the cam not ideal for F.I.? Just some questions i have in my head at this point.

Thanks,
Josh

Alot of compression. Are rods stock? Just throw some 317 heads on it. Some meth.

of course its possible. its a question of how long it would last, and how its tuned. its all in the tune. e85 would certainly lower those temps and help reduce the chances for detonation. prob would be pretty conservative on timing. def throw on the 317's instead. then you could just add meth and go with a slightly more agressive setup. that cam has a nasty profile, and typically wider split is recommended. but some people run em. good luck!

that setup will run on pump and meth, and will work easily on just E85. E85 and meth you can pulley down until it pushes water or you run out of blower

I'd keep it, cam and all. Just make sure it's got a gooooood tune up, and good octane!

Back at the old shop we once built a guy a 11.0/1 N/A combination, he never took it past 5000 rpm so we built a torque based engine for him. He loved it and it was all he was ever going to need. The next year he came back and wanted us to install an APS twin turbo kit on his build. With methanol injection and 93 octane at 7-8 psi it actually worked out really well. The car made incredible torque.
I'd say go for it with the ProCharger. Many stock LS engines aren't that much lower on compression from the factory, and that cam you have will help. Bob

thank you for all the opinions. This should make a fun winter project! I just hope the stock rods are up for the challenge. Where the rods in the 98 ls1's different from say the 99 to 2002 rods?

Keep a good tune up in it, and you will be fine. KP went high 8s on stock LS1 cracked rods, and low 9s consistently with almost your exact setup. Stock rods, diamond pistons, D1, and a helluva chassis setup.
