550 should not be too difficult by any means....

What trans will you be using?

Got any pics? Love those cars....

Don't sell yourself short on the intercooler. Run an air to water.

Awesome build man!!

I love Panteras and I have been waiting for someone to do a turbo LS swap.

A local buddy here does LS conversions on Porshes and one of them he has a Vortech on. That one uses a water to air intercooler and the heat exchanger is up in the tail wing.

Maybe this will give you some ideas...

for a stock block you'll need more than 10lbs boost to make 550whp. by stock, do you mean stock cam and all? or just stock bottom end? anyway, i would still do an air to water. intercooler is ALWAYS better than no intercooler for a street car. unless your a carb buy that is.

i heard alot of good things about speed inc cams. im running a TU2 cam in my lq4 but im also going to be around 700hp all said and done. if you go with a speed inc cam i would do the TU1. i highly suggest you do dual valve springs too. i got some from tick performance for $219 or something. porting the heads will help alot too and its cheap and you can do yourself. that will help reach your goal with lower boost levels.

Yep no prob. Its allot easier doing things right the first time. The extra money you spend on the cam, springs etc. goes a long way and its well worth the money to make more hp with less boost.

The intercooler is NOT needed, whether you are running 10lbs or,as we have, 20 lbs boost.

This has been debated many times, but we have made alot of hp with no intercooler on e85, and no carb either.

800 RWhp with my wagon, and over that with Mike's mustang.

This is on stock pistons, headgaskets, and TTY head bolts.

look up the wagon, or the mustang for more details.

My intake air temps are well over 215 degrees half way into first gear on my quarter mile runs. But with the E85 it is irrelevant.

Very cool car, I have really wanted to do a pantera with a turbo LS engine so I am going to be watching this build.

What are you going to use to run the engine? Holley, factory, or other.

Both cars' builds are on here, 67 twin turbo wagon, and Buddies pt88 mustang build.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...ast-night.html

https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...ort-block.html

Very good drivability, both cars have competed in HotRod magazine's DragWeek. The wagon twice, and the mustang once. Over a thousand miles to 4 different dragstrips, in a week, Not trailered, driven the whole way.

Only tip is sit down and do some searching on here, there are many different combos that will get you there. See what you are drawn to and ask questions about those builds.

Usually it is not the power part you have to worry about it is the traction problems, clutch problems, driveline problems, etc. The power will be the literally the easiest part.
