Boost Cam
I currently have the following mods:
Stock cubes ls1
FAST 90 Intake/FAST 90TB
Aeromotive Fuel Rails
SVO Green Top 42lb Injectors
Ms3 Cam
PRC 2.5 5.3 heads
Ls7 Lifters
I know my cam will need to change to go boost. So I'd like a cam that I'd get the most out of with my 5.3 heads and I am going to go with either a P1SC or D1SC procharger and run 8-12 lbs boost. I have a huge cam now so another big cam that is boost friendly would be fine. What cams are you guys running or would you run? I do plan to start building a 408 for boost as well soon.

And replace with the following parts:
317 heads with PAC 1218 springs
LS6 intake with stock TB
60lb or 80lb injectors if you plan on running E85
LS9 cam (will need 1X cam gear, front cover, and harness)
or you could run the Brute Speed Blower Cam which sounds great
Boost is irrelevant, what are your power goals? With the setup I listed you should have no problem hitting 600 rwhp in a M6 with a D1SC...the stock short block will love you

I know he did one for a guy running a 408 CI F1-X procharger. The guy swapped cams and picked up like 125rwhp

I have a max effort setup now with he ms3 and PRC 5.3 heads. I plan to have a max effort setup that i can run a reliable amount of boost on the stock ls1. I am planning to start building a 408 here soon as well. So my goals are to get the max out of 8-12 pounds of boost and still be reliable for daily driving. I currently daily driver this setup 100 miles a day.
Also on my cam choice I'd like to have a little bit of choppy idle. I love the ms3 choppy idle.

This is Jon's old car from Huron Speed. N/A sound clip but the same cam.

For a max effort setup I would follow the list I made (which is still budget minded), then when your 408 is finished you could swap the top end over to the 408 and turn up the boost. The problem with the PRC 5.3 heads even when used with stock head gaskets is they raise compression to around 10.7.1 (depending on the chamber size & HG's used) which is a little high for the type of power you want to make.

Exactly. I want to do this once and keep the same setup and transfer it over to my 408 when it gets done. So if there would be something better than 317's I'm fine with that. Just looking for everyone's inputs and suggestions. I make 449/417 right now on the setup I have.

Update,
Sent Martin a pm about a cam. Also emailed Advanced Induction about a set of 317's if i send them some. So far I really like the proven Bruteforce Forced Induction cam.
With the 317's. Is there a certain spec I should get the milled to?
Would it be better to just go with the PRC Stage 2.5 6.0 heads that are completely brand new? They have new valves and all. How do they compare to a set of AI heads that are worked?

I'd get in touch with Arun at CCP to help with your cam.
Don't get caught up in the sound. Ive had big NA cams in my zo6, and have now in my C5.i dont like them. I spec'd my last cam in my C6232/244-118+2lsa on a 402 with a novi 1500(t trim, same size as a p1sc, smaller than a d1sc). My car trapped 149mph with 100%stock rear end, tranny, suspension, and no drag pack. Just drag radials out back. Ran the car with the air filter on all the time. Took it off for a couple dyno nights, and that cam with the little blower made 850rwhp/800rwtq. Car had no shake, buck, surge, etc. It drove like a stock car, no throttle in 1st gear just slowly releasing the clutch at a light. Great cam.
My new blower cam for my C5 is a 226/238-116. Arun custom spec'd it for me slightly altering his stage 2 cam, for what I want. He holds the corvette MPH record and daily drives his car.

Just an update. Martin did get in touch with me and I am going to fill out a spec sheet with everything I currently have. He said my current heads would be fine on a 346 but any bigger I need to upgrade. So i am going to most likely sell my current top end as a package.

I would definitely use ported 317's not stock. (See sig for power results) Also there is nothing wrong with your stage 2.5's if compression is okay with you. Also DO KEEP your fast 90. I'm running the same thing. It's worth power and you already have it. Other than that I can recommend you to the cam company that ground my cam. Oh and go no smaller than a d1.

Martin is spec'ing me a cam. I'll post what he specs. He's going to try and make it accommodate my 408 build that will be happening.

Our forced induction cam is well proven and makes large gains in horsepower and torque, I used it with my 408. it will be interesting to see what you end up with. Bob

Your cam has always been in my list of cam choices for the main fact that its been a proven Boost cam. I like you give some dyno sheets on it as well. How does it perform across the power band? My ms3 is a top end cam. Don't get me wrong it's an awesome cam and performs outstanding. But I wish it had a little more low end. I typically run big cams as it is and thats not a problem.
