Default Hit my goal with the car today

Well my main goal for the car was reached today at a track rental at MIR.

Before today By personal best was a 9.4@149mph since then I have added a AMS-500 boost control and worked on the tune some more

First pass off the trailer.

3300 rpm and 6 psi on the brake ramped to 12 psi down track

60' 1.449
1/8 5.995@118.25
1/4 9.300@149.20

2nd pass 3500 rpm and 7 psi on the brake ramped to 12 psi down track

60' 1.185
1/8 5.930@120.09
1/4 9.197@150.66

3rd pass raise the down track psi to 13

60' 1.361
1/8 5.823@121.20
1/4 9.055@152.16

4th pass raise trans brake psi to 8 and raised the ramp rate

60' 1.356 on the back tires. Wheelied good

http://youtu.be/lx1TQo_6HFU

Scared myself a little on that pass so I set the boost controller setting back to the previous pass

5th pass

60' 1.439
1/8 5.896@121.83
1/4 9.109@154.25

6th pass raised down track boost to 14psi

60' 1.383
1/8 5.823@122.42
1/4 9.028@153.28

7th pass raised downtrack boost to 15 psi and made some shock adjustments

60' 1.376
1/8 5.755@123.47
1/4 8.935@154.21 <-- fist 8 second pass and my goal for the car

8th pass I wanted to back the 8 second pass up only shock adjustments made

60' 1.401
1/8 5.776@123.77
1/4 8.94@154.76

9th pass just for fun made some more shock adjustments and raised the 2 set to 3600 and 8 psi

60' 1.358
1/8 5.725@123.70
1/4 8.896@154.86

I am extremely happy with the results of the car for only 15 psi. Also the car weighed 3410 after the 8.89 pass. Here is video of the 8 secon passes

That is just awesome man. Car is flying! Goes to show you what some simple fine tuning can do.

What have you removed to get the raceweight down that low (is it with you in it)?

Good job Dan. You have been chipping away at it and finally met your goal. It's more impressive that you did it without turning it up to 20 psi. Congrats man.

Thanks guys. It has been a long time coming. I am glad I could do it on 15 psi and just on E85. I haven't started sparying any Meth. I might hook it up for next year when I turn the boost up more. Now it is time to deside on a goal for next year.

I will also note that the car is going on the rollers Saturday so I can see what kinda of power numbers it is making

Congrats. Gotta love running 8's on $3/gallon fuel

Can you give a better break down on your engine/heads/intake setup? 4 bolt style heads?

What are the specs on the S88 turbo?

If you can cut a 1.18 60' again... you will really be hauling the mail!

There are lots of pics of the car/engine and turbo set up in my build thread that there is a link for in my sig. But the basics are

AES ls2 385 4 bolt
205 AFR heads 10:1 CR
VA Speed VTC2 cam
Vic Jr with an Aaron's elbow and a stock TB

S88 Turbo with a divided 1.32 AR and the kit does feed the turbo divided. I have built and tuned all of it myself minus assembling the short block

awesome results! Glad to see you got it in the 8's, and you built/tuned it all on your own! I'd love to see what it does with the wick turned up to kill mode! What gear are you running in the rear?
