Whats the difference between the 76gts and the 76/75?
I'm looking at a 76gts turbo. Is it the same as the current PTE 76/75?
If not what are the differences. I've heard nothing but good things about the 76/75.
Can anyone recommend anything else I should look at. I need something that will make 800whp on my LQ9 with a T56

Is there a big difference between the ball bearing Billet wheel unit and the older cast wheel with a journal bearing.
I found a deal on a brand new Ball bearing billet wheel unit but the cost is much more then the GTS I'm looking at. Almost $700 more. Is it worth the extra coin ?

For what it's worth my 98 SS with a stock bottom end 5.7, 241 heads@10.33:1 compression, 227/224 .578"/.563" 114+2 cam, PT7675@15-16psi, LS6 intake, stock TB, 4L80E, 3.55 rear gears and a 3800 stall went 6.47@113mph in the 1/8th@3900lbs+.
To go that MPH in the 1/8th at that weight is 700rwhp+ and more like 750rwhp. It still had a lot left in it and would of probably went 116mph with 20psi which would of probably been all it had to give. Best 60' was 1.47 on that pass. If I could guess 20psi would of been well over 800rwhp and probably closer to 825-850rwhp.
I also never turned this set-up higher than 6100-6200rpm and now that I have experience with making a lot of power with these stock bottom ends, I would feel comfortable spinning it 6600rpm where that cam would of peaked and wanted to be shifted at. Would of been worth some more E.T. and mph if I had. It's not that hard to make these set-ups go fast, just takes some planning and seat time once it's built.

Not to thread jack or anything, how long did the motor stay together at that power lever?

I have the older GTS with a billet wheel/journal bearing on a 370. It makes 690-700 RWHP at 15psi. I turned it up to 17psi and it made 743 RWHP but the fuel system was done so I turned it back down and havent made any changes since. Not sure how much more power the turbo has in it but this is through a 4l80e and a 14 bolt truck rearend.

Well since we have a nice little 7675 results thread going on here I'll add. My 5.3 with a 224/228 cam and a 7675CEA made 717whp on 17lbs through an unlocked 4L80E and LS1 intake. Trapped 141 in a 3500lb car with 23lbs after the 1/8th. Ported heads, better cam, and a LS2/90, and 25lbs hopefully equals a bunch more power this spring.

I was too chicken to run it in the 1/4 afraid it would blow it's load so I just ran it in the 1/8th as hard as I could.
Mine was a cast wheel BTW....
Video of a high 6 second pass on 10lbs of boost:
http://youtu.be/OQd4D4He_pQ?t=48s
It being as heavy as it was it took a while to get the timing dialed in where I thought it was still safe for the fuel/boost I was running and still getting it down the track in the first 330' as quickly as possible. It ran hard out the back, but until the last month I owned it I was too chicken **** to really turn the timing up down low and get it run a number hence why no videos of the 6.47 pass. It would run 6.60's@112 all day long though with a mild tune-up.
