You will be fine, everytime I have loaded a turbo harder it went faster. I think a glide will be quicker.

Compare what youve ran to what Luv2xlr8 has done with his mustang... hes been 5.57@123 with a 1.25 foot.. you went that 60... and ran 2 mph faster. Fix 2nd gear and your car could go 5.47-5.49 as it sits.

You have more than enough power to run the glide. Youd need a really good converter to make it work right from someone like Lenny at UCC.

I think your car could go 8.30's and damn near 170 mph with some tweaking....

And put a diaper on it for safetys sake too.

i'll look into the glide. see what it will take to build one. i dont know what parts need to be upgraded in the glides. i know the th400s can take serious abuse.

it will probably come down to me rebuilding what i have due to dollars. another $300 rebuild kit and probably another direct drum and 34 element sprag. as long as no other hard parts are damaged.

i think it can go 5.50s no doubt. and as long as the motor would stay together id say it would go faster with some more boost and tweaks.

my car is -0.4 in the eighth when i miss second lol, so you should be running 5.40s already, especially at that mph.

fix second gear , and without changing anything else you'll be going 5.40s

Bet its the sprag is why you are missing 2nd, that is why I switched to the glide as I kept hurting sprags street racing with big power and spinning hard on the 1-2 shift with small tire in the ltd.

Waiting on one of you guys to get my record so I will have more motivation on my mustang to try to get it back.

5.5, yes someone beat it, but I don't care about that, making it live at the 1/8th mile is A LOT easier than making them live in the 1/4!

ahh, but those of us who ONLY race 1/8th mile care ONLY about that. So, thats your motivation right there to build that mustang and get it back.

We only have 1/8th mile track here too, I now travel 3hrs to run full 1/4 passes. Quite a few have gone fast in the 1/8th, but when people start making 1/4 hits its a lot harder on the motor they start killing motors.

Ive never run 1/4 mile so I dont know, but I have heard that the 1/4 is harder on the motor. To me, the eighth mile number is actually a little more impressive because it has to be really fast from the get go. ie 60 and 330 have to be right on.

so who currently has the 1/8th mile record?

Mayhem went 5.44 at 129, and 8.71 in the 1/4 now. They have great potential to go 8.5's as does this car in this thread.

Nice runs!

Do you think that the Holley intake manifold helped power output by a substantial amount on your set-up?

Damn. thats fast. Im not minimizing your accomplishments, dont get me wrong. most of us took inspiration from you as you were one of the first ones going truly fast on stock stuff, I just think we need to give credit to the 1/8 mile stuff as well.

and I think once you build the car, the .125 and .25 are in danger of falling yet again.

and you are right, this car has the potential to already be there, once he fixes his trans

May have already listed these details but what stall is your converter and what kind of boost controller are you using. Thanks
