street driving with turbos mounted in grill
How do you guys feel about driving a car with the turbos mounted right in the front of the car on the street?
Dumb question I know but my buddy built an ls fox with twins mounted behind the grill so anything could get sucked into the turbos. Is there anything we can put in front of the turbos like mesh or something other then air filters that would keep the turbos safe for cruising or racing on the street?

If you insist on having the turbos up front like that I would do the following...
Go to home depot and buy some screen material. You know, like the one that's used to make screens for house windows. Also, but some chicken wire that has the smallest holes. The smaller the better. Something with no bigger than 1/4" holes in it. Ohh, and some band clamps that will fit the inlet housing.
Now cut a pattern out of the screen material to fit on your inlets. You're basically making a grill for your turbos. Then do the same with the chicken wire and bend the edges around and over the lip of the inlets. The goal is to make them fit over the inlets just like the red caps that come with the brand new turbos. Once you got them fitted just install the clamps and you're all set.
The chicken wire will protect the screen material from rocks and other crap and the screen material will help keep out anything big enough to damage your turbos.
Just an idea...

Thanks guys, like i said its my buddies car and he didn't build it for the street but I would like to see the car get some street miles and make some late night passes as well. The turbos and kit is already finished now so moving the turbos isn't an option he wants to go with but I just wanted to know if it can be safe with a homemade screen or not to even risk it
